A deadly altercation over rubber tapping wages resulted in the death of a 51-year-old man in the Chumphon province on 15th February. The incident occurred at the Go Peng rubber plantation in Lat Mae district, where a confrontation between the victim and his employer escalated into violence.

According to police reports, the victim, identified as Red Kan-orn, a 51-year-old man from Surin, had been working as a rubber tapper at the plantation owned by Suphanrong Sethirawongsa, a 50-year-old businessman from Chumphon. The two men reportedly argued over the wages for the work, and during the dispute, Suphanrong drew a firearm and shot Red at close range.

After the shooting, Suphanrong fled the scene in a red four-door Ford pickup truck with Bangkok registration plates.

Local residents and family members of the victim rushed him to Lat Mae Hospital, but despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police arrived at the scene to gather evidence, and an investigation led to the identification of Suphanrong as the prime suspect. Authorities have since gathered enough evidence to request an arrest warrant. The search for Suphanrong is ongoing, and law enforcement officials are determined to bring him to justice.
