On February 14, a Thai woman in Phang Nga province was unexpectedly hit in the chest by a stray bullet while lying in her bedroom. Thankfully, she only suffered a minor bruise as the bullet pierced her ceiling before reaching her. The incident occurred in the Khao Lak area.

Investigations began immediately, as officers attempt to trace the bullet's path and identify the shooter. As of now, no suspect has been found.

Firing a gun into the air is illegal under Thai law, punishable by up to five years in prison or a 10,000 baht fine. If caught, the gunman could face additional charges for reckless conduct causing harm, which carries penalties of up to one month's imprisonment or a further 10,000 baht fine.

A similar incident was reported on the Facebook page Drama-addict by another local woman, who found a stray bullet had landed in her storage room just days earlier. Fortuitously, no one was injured.

Public concern is growing, with residents urging authorities to act swiftly. One man shared a story from 20 years ago when a stray bullet struck his property, yet the case went mostly unattended. The call for urgent action emphasizes the community's desire for safety and justice, reported The Thaiger.
