President Donald Trump marked the completion of his first month in office with a triumphant speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in National Harbor, Maryland, on Saturday. Addressing an enthusiastic crowd, Trump showcased his administration’s early achievements, including significant cuts to the federal bureaucracy, while taking aim at his political adversaries, including former President Joe Biden.

"Every single thing he touched turned to shit," Trump declared in reference to Biden, a remark that received a standing ovation from the audience.

A straw poll conducted among CPAC attendees indicated unwavering support for Trump. The poll, read aloud on stage by pollster Jim McLaughlin, showed Trump with a 99% approval rating. It also revealed that 61% of respondents preferred Trump's vice president, JD Vance, as the Republican nominee in 2028. McLaughlin, however, did not mention Trump in relation to the 2028 race. While Trump has suggested interest in a third term, such a move would require an amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which currently limits presidents to two terms.

During a Black History Month event on Thursday, Trump playfully engaged with the idea, asking the audience, "Should I run again? You tell me."

Trump’s tenure thus far has been marked by a series of bold decisions and controversies. A major move was appointing billionaire Elon Musk to spearhead efforts to trim the federal government, leading to significant staffing reductions across various agencies. "Elon is doing a great job," Trump stated. "We love Elon, don't we?"

Musk, taking an aggressive approach, reportedly instructed federal employees to justify their work over the past week or risk termination. His dramatic style was on full display at CPAC when he was handed a chainsaw onstage by Argentina's libertarian President Javier Milei. "This is the chainsaw for bureaucracy," Musk exclaimed, waving it in the air, drawing cheers from the crowd.

Earlier on Saturday, Trump took to social media to urge Musk to push even harder. "Elon is doing a great job, but I would like to see him get more aggressive. Remember, we have a country to save," he posted.

On the international stage, Trump has stirred tensions with allies by imposing widespread tariffs and demanding that European nations contribute more to NATO’s defense. Additionally, he has pressured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to negotiate a resolution with Russian President Vladimir Putin to bring an end to the ongoing war.

Trump claimed that the United States was nearing a deal with Ukraine to share revenue from the country’s mineral resources. His spokeswoman, Karoline Leavitt, reinforced this by stating that national security adviser Mike Waltz was dedicating the weekend to securing an agreement aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Victory for whom?

Certainly not many US businesses which will close and the tens of millions of American citizens about to become unemployed.

Maybe a victory for criminally insane US politicians?

As well as Putin.

Why lie?

All lies. Nothing much has happened. Only been 1 month. Why are grown men expecting an economy to be changed in 1 month? Obviously know nothing about economics or politics.

Special shout out to DEI Harris.

Without her this may not have been possible.

Thanks Kamala. I am feeling very unburdened by what has been.

Another really strong, well thought out response from the high IQ left. I'm almost convinced that Harris would have been a better choice.

Hold on to that thought, someday soon you will be totally convinced that Harris would have been better!

Are you man enough then to admit that?

At some point you will have to face the facts.

If I get to a point that I think Harris would have been better, I will admit it. So, if Trump:

Opens the boarder back up to allow millions of illegal aliens to flood into the county again.

Stops the deportations

Changes Title IX back to compel girls to shower with and compete against men

Restarted federal funding for trans surgeries and "medications"

Reinstitutes programs that hire and promotes people based on skin-color and or gender

Stops Elon from continuing with DOGE

Stops funding Israel

Allows the Ukraine war to continue indefinitely

Started prosecuting political opponents of phony crimes

If he did all those things, I would see that as the breakeven point.

Now if he became a dictator and started to do things unconstitutionally, as defined by the Constitution, that would push me over the line to the Harris side.

How about you, what would  have to happen to come abound to thinking Trump was the better choice?

Here's another perspective.

"The Left is nervous & with Trump's victory, their irritation has turned into hysteria because we are uniting. "

The perspective of someone who doesn’t have a vote in the U.S.

Three gaps are appearing, Trump’s pre-election promises and his post election actions.

Trump’s policies and their outcome.

And these are creating the third, MAGA expectations and the reality that is dawning on them.

It turns out cuts to jobs included MAGA jobs, cuts to welfare include MAGA welfare, slashing regulations included regulations protecting MAGA.

And all from a President now referring to himself as a King.

Its going to get ugly.

A bit of a Strawman argument from you there.

How about this.

Trump won the presidency on the basis of election promises.

It’s no longer about Harris v Trump, it’s about what Trump promises and what Trump delivers.
