So basically he has come over the border from Malaysia, and caught the train, Naratiwat is the end of the line for southern Thailand railway, it doesn't say how long he has been here or he has overstayed,

Overstay! Please explain how a person who illegally entered Thailand without a visa through a natural border can be on overstay? What visa, that he didn´t have, did he overstay?

It might be less of a drama queen comment if you said it is believed blacks are mostly foreign and require the correct permission of stay and a passport, and it is within the rights of the police to ask that these be shown to them. If they run away, it is likely they do not.

No, just people who encounter immigration officers and do an instant runner... regardless of colour

They should take home to Soi Kowsan in Bangkok where he can buy a fake degree and TEFL certificate and then give him a job as an English teacher.

Would you happen to be a teacher?

Pictures of arrest.

A 52-year-old Nigerian man has been arrested in Sattahip for illegally entering Thailand, following a short chase in which he attempted to flee but fell between parked cars.

The suspect, identified as Mr Solomon, was apprehended by Chonburi Immigration Police after officers received reports from local residents about a foreign national suspected of being in the country without valid travel documents.

Acting on orders from Chonburi Immigration Chief Pol Col Napaspong Khositsuriyamanee and Deputy Chief Pol Lt Col Kawinwat Arayasurivong, officers from Pattaya Immigration conducted surveillance outside a condominium in Na Jomtien, Sattahip District. When officers identified Mr Solomon and approached him, he panicked and attempted to escape but tripped and fell beside a resident’s car, allowing officers to detain him.

During questioning, Mr Solomon admitted to illegally crossing into Thailand via a natural border in Narathiwat province. He then travelled by train to Bangkok before taking a taxi to Pattaya. He stated that he had fled economic hardship in his home country, believing he could earn a better living in Thailand.

Authorities have charged him with illegal entry and residence in Thailand. He is set to be deported following legal proceedings.

It's a really lame explaination why he came here.

He should have prepared a better one. There was time enough.

So, not possible maybe he tried to rent an accommodation, giving an excuse for his lack of a visa required at check-in?  That couldn't have happened, huh?

It seems you are the one doing the profiling here.

That's exactly how to deal with situations like this. One way ticket back to Nigeria at his own expense or stay in the IDC indefinitely or until his embassy repatriates him.

Excellent work Thai Immigration Police.

He needs to be Blacklisted

He will be and with biometrics he won't be coming back legally, ever.

A win for the Thai Immigration Police here.
