RubbaJohnny Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Looked at Immigration site , none the wiser. A brief google suggests it is a digital version of the old TM6 "landing /arrival card? I have a multi entry non O with re entry permit. Will it be an app? Will it be via eMail ? Will it work by text to my Thai mobile? I am happy to comply but the similar Malay system very clunky esp if entering address in correct formats Has anyone seen a template please? I am never in a hurry as partner always late pick up from Swampy so can do it once landed unles airlines will make it a boarding requirement. as refusal makes airline liable to deport Any advice or experience welcome thank you in anticipation. 1

It's already live, daughter filled one in the other day for her upcoming trip in August Hang on, it's the electronic visa she filled in, is this landing card thing something different? 2

Upnotover Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago 5 minutes ago, PattayaParent said: She's in class, will get back to me!! I saw you edited your original post. If she's coming in August then the e-visa she seems to have applied for will have expired, they are issued for entry 3 months from date of issue. So she will need to apply for another one nearer the time, by which time the online arrival card system may or may not have been started. 1

It's not live. Electronic visa is completely different. It's unlikely she would need a visa. Most countries are visa exempt to Thailand, so I doubt she would have been applying for an electronic visa either. 1

It's not the TDAC (Thailand digital arrival card) Seems she applied for an eVisa. However that can't be correct at her trip is in Aug. Also what visa could she be applying for?

The Immigration Bureau has also collaborated with other agencies to streamline travel processes, integrating the TDAC with: The Department of Consular Affairs' E-Visa system ..." bamnutsak Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago If Singapore is any model - and it often is with Thai procedures - then no, it will not be a requirement for boarding yes, it can be done in the arrivals hall At this point I wouldn't worry about it. Once it is "soft-launched" there will be more details. 1

But ALL visitors have to apply for an eVisa from June and she's coming in August. 2
PattayaParent Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago What's the point of this digital arrival card? The paper one served no purpose, no other country use it. For safety they say, because the Chinese are worried about kidnappings. So why does no other country use one? Or require you to report to immigration within 24 hours of arrival? (China does that) 1

She really needs to do nothing until July.

Many other countries require an arrival card. 2 minutes ago, PattayaParent said: Or require you to report to immigration within 24 hours of arrival? In most cases hotels report arrivals. In a few cases individuals may have to file a TM30 (or TM27/28).

bamnutsak Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Just now, PattayaParent said: New Travel Requirement for Visitors to Thailand Coming in 2025 | ThaiEmbassy.com That refers to the Thailand Digital Arrival Card. You seem to be conflating an eVisa with a TDAC.
PattayaParent Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago 2 minutes ago, bamnutsak said: That refers to the Thailand Digital Arrival Card. You seem to be conflating an eVisa with a TDAC. On August 23, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in Thailand announced that they are accelerating the implementation of a new system, a new travel requirement for visitors to Thailand, that would introduce a mandatory requirement for all tourists once operational. Starting in December 2024, the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system will be introduced and all foreigners looking to travel to Thailand under the visa exemption scheme will be required to enroll in it from June 2025 onwards. Doesn't mention DTAC anywhere on the page.

BTW: Why is daughter even obtaining an eVisa. How long does she plan to stay in Thailand.

(China does that) Malaysia has a similar digital arrival card (MDAC) for all visitors With the Malaysian MDAC system once your request has been approved you can check so see if your eligible to use the egates so no more queues at immigration desks For TDAC Benefits of the TDAC System: For tourists: Convenience of submitting information in advance, saving time at the airport Faster immigration processing and reduced wait times Enhanced security and accuracy of personal information https://www.nationthailand.com/news/tourism/40045807

Most tourists get their address reported at their first hotel, and each one afterwards. I think the only valuable information was the voluntary questionnaire on the reverse side.
vinny41 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago The other advantage of the MDAC system hopefully they will replicate with TDAC is Key points about MDAC and passport stamps: Digital system: When you fill out an MDAC online before arriving in Malaysia, your entry details are stored digitally, eliminating the need for a physical stamp in your passport. No entry or exit stamps so no worries if your passport pages are nearly full

Bangkok, 17 October 2024 – Thailand has extended the suspension of the requirement to fill out the ‘To Mo 6’ (TM6) immigration form for foreign travellers entering and exiting Thailand at 16 land and sea checkpoints until 30 April 2025. The TM6 form is the arrival/departure card, which foreigners are required to fill out with their passport information and other personal and travel information when entering or leaving Thailand. The form was permanently cancelled for foreign travellers arriving by air since July 2022. https://www.tatnews.org/2024/10/thailand-suspends-filing-of-tm6-immigration-form-for-land-and-sea-arrivals/
