Bank Staff Falls Down Lift Shaft in Pattaya

A 40-year-old bank cash transport employee suffered severe injuries after falling down a loading lift shaft at a well-known bank in Pattaya on February 23. The incident occurred at approximately 07:40 prompting a swift response from the Pattaya Emergency Rescue Foundation.

 

Upon receiving the emergency call, rescue personnel rushed to the scene located on the third floor of the bank, situated on Pattaya Second Road, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi. Upon arrival, they found the victim, identified as Narut Yuthasuntorn, unconscious with serious head and spinal injuries, with significant blood loss.

 

Witnesses reported that Narut had been preparing to transport cash to various ATMs in the Bang Lamung area. According to Ms Aor, his 41-year-old supervisor, Narut was facing away from the lift as he pulled a cash bag into the lift, mistakenly believing the lift had arrived at his floor, but he lost his footing and the momentum of the bag caused him to fall into the open lift shaft and sustaining the critical injuries.

 

Rescue teams quickly provided first aid at the base of the shaft, before carefully extracting him from the lift shaft on a spinal board and transporting him to Pattaya Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

 

Authorities and bank officials are investigating the incident.

So, while Narut was lying at the bottom of the shaft very seriously injured, where was the bag with the loot and what happened to it? There would have been a lot of people milling around.

I saw this happen at my University. The doors were open, and the lift was there, but then the lift left the floor, leaving the doors open. It's all about maintenance.

Two faults here, the lift being there and locked in place or the doors won't open.

Obviously he is in a bad way and I hope the dude recovers fast.
However there are more sensible ways to run away with a banks money, I am 15 years older than him and never fallen down a lift shaft, but then also never robbed a banks money

Also how big was this bank? I know a couple of banks in Patty but if he landed on the third floor must have meant he came from higher anyone more knowledge of Patty might know banks higher than three floors and what this means?

I hope he gets better with no long term effects.

Whomever is responsible , will be paying out the minimal compensation  , thats why

nothing improves here , leave it till its really broken , or someone gets hurt, if they

had to pay out real amounts of compensation they would make sure equipment is safe.

These people must of all be looking at their phones. I spend my whole life in Thailand looking down to prevent myself from getting hurt or worst. Holes are everywhere and hazards are what Thailand is all about. Sad but could had been prevented if only you look before you step.
