This briefly from a 2021 NYTimes article following the death of Rush Limbaugh:

Mr. Limbaugh almost single-handedly created a right-wing mass-media universe — with its kneejerk hatred of Democrats, mocking nicknames and own-the-libs glee — that allowed him to imprint his grievances and goals on the national debate. About 15 million people a week tuned in for his daily three-hour program.

So that attitude has been around since the 1990's.

And continued by the likes of Mark Levin today.  👺

Retired folks need to get laid or read books or travel.  Politics is not high on the list.  Enjoy life, it is very short.

Trump has 3 years and 9 months to go....so, chill out and smoke everyday.

In addition to the above some are wonks who like reading judge's decision favoring Dellinger against Sec Treasury which starts with the email to Dellinger:

On behalf of President Donald J. Trump, I am writing to inform you that
your position as Special Counsel of the US Office of Special Counsel is
terminated, effective immediately. Thank you for your service[.]

Have a nice day.

How will it feel to spend the next four years trying to justify Trump's increasingly lunatic posts and actions, and exercising doublethink every day?

How will it feel to watch ordinary Americans getting stressed about living costs spiraling out of control? Or Americans becoming pariahs?

I think you're confused: that describes Biden perfectly, but he's not president any more.

Donald is heading for one of two prizes:

1. The Neville Chamberlain, appeaser of the year prize, awarded to the most naive and dumb politician of the year.

2. Weasel of the year, awarded to the person most willing to discard any human values in exchange for monetary gain.

All wrong. Trump is better than Churchill. Churchill was a loser who needed US and Soviet help plus many others. The Normandy invasion was led by an American.

Some of the many lies in Trump's speech last night.

1. Trump proclaimed that he won the 2024 election with "a mandate like has not been seen in many decades."  No- Trump won the popular vote by just a 1.48% margin, while Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama each had margins of victory of 4.45% and 7.27%, respectively.

2. Trump falsely asserted there was widespread fraud in the Social Security Administration (SSA), arguing that people well over 100 years old were receiving benefits. No they don't.

3. Trump said Musk leads the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE.

No- The Trump administration has argued in federal court that Musk does not lead DOGE. This may result in legal problems down the road.

Did Obama and Biden win all 7 swing states?

“Believe it or not, government databases list 4.7 million Social Security members from people aged 100 to 109 years old,” Trump said. “And money is being paid to many of them.”

From the State of the Union transcript:

In fact, it has been stated by many that the first month of our presidency — it’s our presidency — is the most successful in the history of our nation. By many.

And what makes it even more impressive is that do you know who No. 2 is? George Washington.

As an outsider it makes me happy - both the Democrats and Republicans of America deserve each other.

 - and thier mutual hatred is going to mean USA's slow decline is now on steroids.

At the age 70 i thought i would not quite get to see the removal of USA as the workd's dominant power - now i am pretty sure that i will.

Oh happy happy days of delightful watching..

I am just wondering why the Trump acolytes in Thailand seem to be in no hurry to get back to the promised land.
