I have my health insurance through Bangkok Life Assurance.  In the 4 years I’ve had the policy I made 2 claims, both were paid promptly with no questions asked.

My wife has a different policy and her agent mentioned that in the very near future policies will include deductibles and may even include copays.  Our policies will not change as long as we keep paying our annual premiums.

My policy has scheduled premium increases every 5 years and will cover me until age 85.

I am thinking of changing from April. Any thoughts/experiences of Cigna or Pacific Cross?

I got quotations from both.

Cigna with high prices and Pacific Cross with loads of exceptions.

Both not recommended.

Wrlife have agreed cover for keyhole surgery for removal of early stage  tumour on colon, and all pre op and post op procedures. Took a week or so, but it's expensive so I was happy they took their time. At BPH. They've covered all my claims to date, involving 12 days IP. Not difficult to deal with, either directly or through their agent. I had to hand deliver medical records from a previous hospital (Memorial) to the BKK offices of their underwriters, Assist International. Had a really good lady Bolt driver who found the offices, tucked away in a large modern office block off Rama IX. Extremely nice people there, English well spoken, impressive set up, IMHO. I was glad I made the trip. Put a lot of demons to rest. And my 2 year AFIB moratorium has completed, so I'm now covered for coronary. 10,700 pm at age 75.

I am currently with April International. I looked at changing at the end of last year but eventually rejected both the others you mention.

Cigna - was going to end up more expensive probably in the long run with slightly less benefits.

PC - as someone else mentioned have lots of exclusions depending on your age - get in young enough and it may be ok and if healthy you would certainly save money earlier on. I didn't want to take the risk.

Currently considering for my next renewal a Thai Life policy (yes it has some Life Insurance part but overall may offer better value then April Int. ).

The only issue for me is getting an English translation of their small print......

And be sure to ask them who is their underwriter and what is their A.M. Best rating.

(REDUX As has been 'helpfully' pointed out many times by others))

...and as I pointed out many times here and gave the organization chart, there are still unbelievers here. I was in contact with the CEO many times and ask him all these relevant questions.

You could do the same.

I am on record here many times dealing with the boo birds. Relax.

Thank you.

So, if someone were to say that '"claim denied" is likely and common' could one then infer the suggestion that the probability of a claim being denied exceeds the probability of a claim being paid?

Definitely but it's wise to keep fingers crossed at all times, it may help 🤞
