Hi

My GF is on her 2nd UK visitor visa.

The first visit was last year and she visited for 2 months and she is now on a 3 month visit and due to go home next month. On the application form we stated this would be a 3 month visit.

We'd like to extend this trip to 4 mnths but I'm wandering if this willhave a detrimental effect on her next visa application? Should I let them know first or would you advise against extending the trip even though its a multi entry 6 month visa?

She's employed by her father so there's no problem with her potentially losing her job and her previosu applications have made reference to her working for her father.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

In the circumstances, I don't think it will have too detrimental an effect, although what your girlfriend gains now in length of stay, she will lose in terms of waiting longer in order to reapply (if she is to apply for another visit visa).

You're under no obligation to inform the embassy now, and if you were to do so they would probably ignore it anyway. Your girlfriend will continue to be lawfully in the UK whilst her visa is valid.

Scouse.

Some have said that you will have problems if you don't stick to the letter of the application, but I have taken the GF on four VV's over the past four years and have stayed twice to three times as long as requested in the application and have had no problems getting her the visa each year. Last time we did two trips on the multi-entry visa and again no problems with the last visa. In the sponsor letter I always make a point of emphasizing that we have never caused any problems in UK or for the visa office, which should really be all they are concerned with.
