Fifteen Day Old Deceased Baby Left In Garbage Bin

Featured Replies

A Trash collector was shocked to see a dead baby in a garbage bin near Bali Hai Pier, South Pattaya.

On 9 August 2007, at 6:15 AM, Pattaya Investigator Police Lieutenant Colonel Ormsin Suk-Garnha received a phone call from Mr. Suthon Ploywan (33), a Pattaya City trash collector, that he found a dead baby in a trash bin near the lawn of the Bali Hai Pier, South Pattaya. Police Lieutenant Colonel Sirichai Kruprasertwattana, Deputy Superintendent and a police team, along with Sawang Boriboon Rescue, rushed to investigate.

At the incident, there were people gathered at the back of the garbage truck to observe the body of the poor baby boy. He was about fifteen days old. There were signs of trauma on his head.

Mr. Suthon told police that he and his coworkers had been doing their regular work routine, starting at 2 AM, collecting garbage from all of the bins around the city. They had reached Bali Hai Pier at about 6 AM. They were very shocked to see a dead baby at the bottom of the bin and immediately called the police.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Sirichai said that the unfortunate baby was not more than fifteen days old. Police are assuming that the parents were youngsters and unable to take care of the baby. The injury on the skull could have resulted from being beaten or some sort of disease which caused the baby to die. The exact cause of death has not yet been determined. Officials questioned people around the area, but nobody saw anything suspicious or knew when the baby was dumped. Officials will send the baby for examination and will follow up to find the parents and proceed according to the law.

A very sad story.

I noticed that Pattaya Mail TV cashed in on this by graphically displaying the corpse.
