Is it possible Trump is trying to sabotage the world economy?

Deftly forcing Americans to pay more for rubbish. Deftly forcing them to buy inferior products.  USA! USA! USA!

Why not deftly raise manufacturing standards in the US? Why not deftly compete with - as you said it - better and cheaper products to become more competitive in the world market?

Tariffs and protectionism only take you backwards. But it's fun to watch the US self destruct, carry on!

Trump cannot do anything "Deftly".

Its clearly not your country based on the tenor of your posts. But hey I will give you a chance.

Did President Trump do a good job is virtually eliminating illegal border crossings?

Economies always survive. The quality though is a different matter.  The US economy continued during the Great Depression, but many citizens starved or froze to death.

US has had multiple economic meltdowns where its  poor die and its wealthy often lose their fortunes. No worries, right?

Yawn

Trump is old, crazy, cannot get relected and hates just about every other country.

So, yes maybe he wants to destroy the world economy.

Well they sure were during the election LOL

Yes, they were indeed able to read the mood of the nation while Democrats lived in a self-created bubble.  As you can tell -- I am no Trump fan.  I think he's incompetent, ignorant, and corrupt; one of the ways I'll despise Trump after his term is up is done is because he took a mandate to do some really important things -- rein in illegal immigration, reduce the size of government -- and screw it up.

But I certainly am no fan of the Democrats either.

Well hes only a month in. But at least you are keeping an open mind and have the correct goals.

What is he doing to "screw up". He is setting up some major wins.

Non Americans don't necessarily know about or care about US immigration, that is an internal problem.  What we do care about is what he is doing/causing outside of the USA.

As the saying goes "nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity..". I dont think Trump is clever enough to destroy the world economy.

You're the kind of guy who---if your wife was being raped---would just tell her to give in and enjoy it. In your world, that's knocking some sense into her.

Unlike you, Ukrainians are brave men and women, willing to fight for their freedom, rather than submit to a psychopath and live on their knees.

Maybe a MAGA store has designer knee pads for sale. Get yourself a pair.

Wrong analogy, Ukraine is not the woman being raped, Ukraine is the woman who had a boyfriend and WHILST with that boyfriend decided to jump into bed with another guy who looked like he had more money.

Then she thoroughly serviced the new guy on the mere promise that he'd marry her, which of course he didn't. No wonder the original boyfriend, ie Russia, was upset.

Now cheating Ukraine has to pay the price.

You probably need knee pads more than me, judging by the way you've been kissing the boots of Zelensky, btw.

We only care about what he is doing outside the US as it relates to whats best for us, viz

Fact: A strong independent Europe, able to provide their own security, and operating under American principles and not interfering with our eceonomy to their benefit is best for us.

Fact: A strong, non revanchist Russia is best for us, as a counterweight to china.

All things flow to that

At this point in time it is truly the only reasonable explanation for his completely inane policies, and his ridiculously uninformed tariffs.

I believe that he thinks by crashing the world economy he and his wealthy cronies will benefit on quite a number of levels, this is intentional and it will really surprise his supporters, who have no idea who the man truly is, and have no idea how heinous and evil his intentions are.

Lizard people.

Notice never any facts or analysis, just eplileptic screeching like a Kookaburra on Crack.

I think it's becoming increasingly more obvious with his "cycle insanity" that Trump could be looking to destroy the US economy, intentionally.

I rather like to think, that neither he, nor his staff have a clue of economics... Yes, running casinos in Vegas is easy (or not), but he shouldn't gamble with the whole economy and financial markets like that. - Fire Musk, and hire Buffett!

And indeed a strong and fully armed Europe is much better for Europe too. Trump is the positive force for good the world needs now, no doubt about it.

The problem is Europe is a basket case, and something needs to shock them back into reality. One cant live in reality one denies.

What the EU countries really need is their own Trump, but of course he's a once in a generation appearance. A billionaire who has brains, wants to make a difference, is tough, knows how to negotiate. I guess there is no one like this in the UK, Germany or France right now.

I completely agree Buffett would be a great asset, and Musk is a huge liability, and to address your point he does not know how to run a casino, and anybody who doubts that should take a look at the history of his casinos and the massive size of his bankruptcies, leaving thousands of small contractors in the lurch, many of whom lost their businesses permanently.

But that's just who Trump is.

Screeching, out of context lies that the American people have rejected twice. You are starting to sound deranged.

What has Trump done wrong? Why are people pro war but anti tariffs. I find it incredible they want young guys to die in their thousands but scared about market shocks due to tariffs.

One has to worry, whether Trump will turn out to be the Herbert Hoover of the 21st century (or worse)...
