A violent altercation at a car repair shop in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung, Chonburi, ended in gunfire during the night of 8 March, leaving a 37-year-old man injured.

Emergency responders from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Centre received a distress call at 20:00 reporting a shooting incident at a residence adjacent to the garage. Officers from Huai Yai Police Station, including Pol. Col. Atthaphon Itthayophasakul and Pol. Lt. Col. Phatthanaphong Saenkhwa, rushed to the scene along with rescue teams.

Upon arrival, authorities found bloodstains leading to the victim’s relative’s house, where panicked family members, including children and the elderly, were in shock. The injured man, later identified as Ekkaphong Phetcharatananon, had already been transported by his associates to seek police assistance at Khao Mai Kaew Police Checkpoint.

According to Sasiwat, the victim’s brother, Ekkaphong had prior disputes with a man named Toey, resulting in a fistfight in which Toey was overpowered. Later, Toey arranged a meeting at the garage, claiming he wanted to resolve their differences. However, upon arrival, Ekkaphong was immediately attacked by Toey.

As the situation escalated, three of Toey’s associates, identified as Arm, O, and Aeyiat, brandished firearms, threatening those present and warning them not to intervene. Ekkaphong fled into a nearby house, but the armed men chased him and opened fire, hitting him twice, once in the right calf and once in the ankle.

Police investigators reviewed CCTV footage, which captured the incident in detail. Approximately eight men arrived at the scene, with Toey initiating the assault before his associates drew three firearms. They pursued Ekkaphong to the back of the house before gunshots were heard. Shortly after, the assailants fled in a car.

Investigating officer Pol. Lt. Pholsan Khanchali has gathered evidence, including CCTV footage and witness testimonies. Authorities have identified all suspects and are actively pursuing their arrest.

The case remains under investigation as police continue to track down the perpetrators for prosecution.
