However, Ciaran Martin, professor at Oxford University's Blavatnik School of Government told the BBC that explanation was "wholly unconvincing" and "pretty much garbage." Prof Martin - former head of the UK's National Cyber Security Centre - says it looks as if X was targeted by what's known as a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack, where hackers flood a server with internet traffic to prevent users from connecting to a website. "It's not that sophisticated - it's a very old technique," Mr Martin told Radio 4's Today programme. "I can't think of a company of the size and standing internationally of X that's fallen over to a DDoS attack for a very long time," he added. It's okay Donald Trump, the World's Greatest Conman doesn't understand the stock market. Elon Musk doesn't understand how the internet or cyber security works, either. Hey Russian Hackers! Soon you can jam your malware into the Starlink systems in US Airport Air Traffic Controllers, because obviously he doesn't care about security or preventing attack issues. 😭 -

Could Trump's plan fail in a spectacular fashion?
After the shambles of the Biden presidency I must confess to being one of those that cheered when Trump won. And he did get off to a promising start. But seems that he's revealed himself to be a walking talking fruitcake. With Musk gone rogue too. More than a few people are going to have their retirement finances trashed over the next few years. The way he's nuzzling up to Mad Vlad is extremely worrisome - I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't start substituting Canadian imports with Russian. And most concerning of all is this unstable clown has the nuclear codes! -

The lizards around here are now just beginning to get their groove. They are just starting up.... Soon enough, their sounds will resound from the rooftops. Even more strident and pressing than Paul Revere.... I love these lizards. And, you should too...be...thankful for.... The sounds of the Jungle. Anytime I hear a lizard around here.... I think of.... Getting a refund from a travel card
IF the room was booked twice.... as you mentioned earlier, one of them should be free (at least for the first night - until they filled it after a no show on the second night). Thus: Can the hotel (guest house) show that there were two separate bookings ? Can you get written confirmation from the hotel that they have full occupancy for your 'booking' duration (thus the other room was occupied anyway) ? ------------ You may need to chalk it down to experience. I got caught out in Japan.... I'd booked a hotel that had free cancellation until the night before. Given 'variable travel plans and inclement weather in the mountains' - I opted to hold the booking incase transport options were closed off (plan B sort of thing). I tried to cancel the day before, but the internet in the area was soo poor the Booking.com kept hanging..... I figured I'd try again later... the poor weather interfered with the internet so much local Wifi was down, cell service was intermittent...... and by the time I was able to get access, it was after 10pm (Thailand time) and I'd lost the the cancellation option... ... Lesson learned... I wrote to claim the issue - it wasn't booking.coms fault & the hotel weren't interested in a refund, I even asked to for an open booking as we'd be back the following year... hotel went off-radar (no response)... we ere in the same area the following year and of course didn't stay or eat at that hotel - but the issue was ultimately my own fault.
