Watch them try.

Trump or must lack the power to cut SS.  Anyway, the combined cost of SS, Medicare, Medicaid is 3.3 trillion.  At some point these programs will need to be trimmed.

Well they're definitely deeply cutting Medicaid. That will directly result in the deaths of countless Americans. Probably most Trump supporters.

Don't you lefties have anything better to do that start all these daft threads?

Apparently not---so we have another nearly 4 years to hear this nonsense --  It;s quite sad really because not only affects ASEAN , You can not seem to go anywhere on the net now without someone with the trump madness.

Like you I am not an American-- but just 50 days in Office and to them its like the world collapsing---no recognition that the last guy gave -8,064 Pardons , especially to himself and family (Bush gave 200) .

They do not seem to find that at all questionable.

Oh well there is always the TV and Joke pages---see you there........................:w00t:

Or raise the cap so Billionaires pay the same % as teachers, firefighters and policemen.

Weird how you rule that out and start hurting the Middle Class.

Because cutting SS, Medicare, Medicaid ain't going to hurt the rich.

It's almost like you hate America and all it stands for (helping the Middle Class from starving in their old age). 😄

Rising the cap does not completely solve the issue.  The larger issue is the growing number of people on SS vs those who pay into the system.  The current ratio is less than 3 to 1.

Can you please define the income of a billionaire?

If so it means that for once he has found the correct recipients of his so called largesse.

Apologize?  For what?

Being wrong?

Sure thing.

You first, Trump Supporters. 🤓

Republicans have hated SS from Day One.

They've always wanted to cripple it.

Republican Coworker: Social Security is going bankrupt.

Me: That's because you keep voting for people who keep inadvertently telling you their plans. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Social Security has run a deficit since 2010.

Yes, Social Security has generally run a cash-flow deficit since 2010, meaning that its expenses (benefit payments) have exceeded its payroll tax and other non-interest income. However, the program was able to cover these shortfalls by using interest income from its trust funds.

Since 2021, Social Security has been drawing down its trust fund reserves because total income (including interest) is no longer sufficient to cover full benefits. The trust fund is projected to be depleted by the mid-2030s, at which point, if no changes are made, benefits may have to be reduced to match incoming payroll tax revenue.

BINGO.

Raise the cap so Billionaires pay the same rate as everyone else.

Problem solved.

Right now, income above $168,600 (as of 2024) isn’t subject to Social Security taxes

If that cap were raised—or eliminated entirely—Social Security would be on much stronger footing. Some proposals even suggest applying the tax only to earnings above a certain threshold (like $400,000) to avoid raising taxes on upper-middle-class earners while still making the ultra-wealthy contribute more.

It’s a simple fix, but getting Congress to act?

Do you seriously think Republican politicians care about the working class who need SS?

They don't need it.  They're rich.  Why aren't you rich?  Tough luck.  Get sick and die early.  Good riddance.

That's their brand. 😘

1) Lets see the dems pass a bill, who had 15 years to deal with this issue.

2) Billionaires have nothing to do the problem of the SS program.
