Relationship question

Featured Replies

For those that have an older spouse and still lives in Thailand.  The age difference is 17 years apart. Money in this case I don't believe is a factor unless the parents try to get involved. Should such a relationship continue, a relationship that is very compatible and the lifestyle is quite different from each other. What that means a condo lifestyle is a no-no for me. Outside the city limits does seem to be fine for the both of us though. I'm retired and she will retire this year. Neither of us is in financial debt. ( not that I know of ).

Your thoughts and experience.

Thanks

You might want to reword that a little.  It's quite confusing.

I suggest something like:

Age, job, class, income, of each person.

Children.

What you each plan to do when you live together in Thailand.

Where exactly you plan to live.

Where the parents live.

How your lifestyles differ.

What specific advice you want.

What's the problem, imagined or real, current or feared to come up in the future?

Sounds like you are trying to invoke western social norms on your situation. Why not forget social "western" society and express your love to someone you love? No one complains that Elvis fell in love with a teenager and finally married her when she was of legal age. If you both are into it, then enjoy it. In my experience, most Thais don't think about age the same as in the west. Yeah, be careful about her family.

You would probably have more enjoyment from a spouse 17 years younger rather than one who is 17 years older.

But whatever floats your boat.
