I didn't say that you were afraid of homosexuality; I said that you were homophobic.

 

I know a number of gay individuals/couples (of both genders). To the best of my knowledge, none of them gets a parade either: I've not enquired, but I also doubt very much whether they receive a government subsidy to satisfy any sexual kinks that they may or may not have.

For example.

 

While homosexuality sits within a spectrum of normal sexual development that is influenced by genetics, the same cannot be said of Pedophilia.

 

There is also significant evidence that child sex abuse is, in many cases, a learned behavior, many child abusers having been victims themselves during their own childhood.

 

The existence of pedophiles is not random, it has causes that are not those that relate to other normal sexual development. Therefore the sample of convicted pedophiles is not random.

 

Pedophiles are not representative of the general population.
 

There is no mathematical basis to draw conclusions on the general population from a sample that is not random and not representative.

 

Finally, there is a reverse argument that comes out of the naïve ‘proportional’ view.

 

The data on pedophiles comes from prosecutions, the behaviors of the individuals have been logged in the criminal record, it is very solid data. 
 

The data on homosexuality is very much less secure, being to a large extent based on self identification, certainly under reported.

 

If the naïve reading of the proportionality is to be taken at face value, then it cannot be concluded that homosexuality is over reported among pedophiles without first closing out the equally logical, and statistically more sound, conclusion that homosexuality in the general population is massively under reported.

Since the proportion of homosexuals in the population is 4%, with 96% of people being heterosexual, that means 24:1, however among pedophiles that ratio is 11:1. So this CLEARLY shows that the propensity for paedophilia is MUCH larger among homosexuals than among heterosexuals.

 

I already stated above that in absolute terms there are more heterosexual pedophiles, obviously since 94% of the population is heterosexual, however, the ratio of homosexuals among pedophiles is staggering and WAY out of proportion to their actual number in the population. Therefore, clearly the propensity towards pedophilia among heterosexuals is much larger.
