Why didn’t his “friend” delete the video instead of circulating it?

Because he was a Thai. They have a fascination with pics and vids of anything gory, I've no idea why...

Those playing the Most Dangerous Game, must be prepared to die for own excitement and fun.

May not be so Tragic to them(defying the risk of own death in advance).

That was my old building he jumped off. Tower C of Lumpini in Naklua.

Not the brightest idea. It's not that high and I remember watching the video that his parachute looked obviously not set up correctly.

Not for Low Altitude, Low Opening?

Welcome to the 'woke, TikTok, You Tube' world Ed.

It is all about 'likes'. ie $$$

Nothing else matters.

BTW, base jumping is pretty dumb.

Jumpers know and accept the risks, they film it for 'likes'.

Sorry, but your brother achieved his aim.

How is it “woke?”

Why didn't he just go for a night out in pattaya and start a fight like the rest of us brits do?

Have you ever been beaten-up by a ladyboy on such a night out!?🙂

It's not my cup of tea, but neither is closing web portals because they host legal but disturbing graphics.  If you don't want to watch, don't watch.  I personally have no desire to watch people die.

Now on the other hand, Thai TV News shows the same type of graphic stuff daily in order to generate viewership.  The only difference?  They pixalate or blur the gory details.  In reality, they are doing the same thing:  Leveraging other's deaths to generate viewership.

One's "Bad" and the other is "Acceptable?"   Get real.  :glare:  They both use the appeal of a common denominator.

Oops. Guess I didn't pack my chute well enough. Oh well.

I think quite the contrary, these types of videos should be encouraged as they are cautionary tales, and they show the effects of pure and total foolishness, recklessness, disregard for ones body, and absolute hubris.

Indeed...   Its more likely he is mowed down by an cockroach idiot delusional drink driver thinking they are safe on the roads...

Ever wonder why people would pay money to see Evel Knievel jump over buses?  So they could witness the crashes when they happened.

Brit TV, I sure, has over-the-top graphic death scenes in movies.  If you're going to censor, better censor it all.  Right.  Gotta censor any that may be disturbing to your citizens, yeah?

Yes. You could see that they 'bridle loop' was caught in the harness, so the chute wasn't going to deploy.

The Pilot chute assist method would have been safer, a helper holding the pilot chute in one hand and the bridle in the other, when the guy jumps the tension makes sure the pin pops on the main canopy.

Dying for likes . Literally !!

Pretty sure going backwards in evolution these days . 🙈

I personally see no problem if adult people get their kick out of risky behaviour. It is their decision, as long as nobody else is harmed.

And I obviously believe, that his family is grieving.

But it was his planned decision to jump -- and by extension to put his loved ones through the consequences of his actions.

It was a high risk jump from a relatively low building into a tree-lined street with unclear visibility, so my assumption is, that in his community of base jumpers, it is a fitting epitaph (along the lines "he died doing what he loved").

His right to document his actions, in my eyes, trumps the right of his family to not be confronted with his decisions (which I am sure they kew about, this was not his first jump looking at the risk level).

Therefore I still see no issue with the video circulating.

Might sound heartless but one less you tuber to mess up my algorithm of pointless videos I don't want to watch.

But a pretty good stunt and probably got more clicks after the parachute failed than if he was still breathing and the stupid stunt actually worked
