Yes, I'm in agreement with you, this is quite unusual. There are high readings throughout the country. We even have 'unhealthy air' up here in Sakon Nakhon, which is very rare.

 

There is apparently a high pressure region hanging over central Thailand just now which according to Google AI:

 

'High atmospheric pressure, often associated with stable weather conditions, can lead to increased air pollution because it creates stagnant air, preventing pollutants from dispersing and allowing them to accumulate at ground level'. 

 

I agree, it will pass soon, so don't panic @Harrisfan

So far, here in CM, the smoke PM values have refused to go above 200, or even come close.....!!!!

 

But now, things are really beginning to pick-up nicely....!!!!

 

When the reading go above 200, then this will be my SIGN to resume my exercise routing, daily.

 

I LOVE to exercise, such as by walking 10 Klicks in the SMOG....with smoke all around me, as far as the eye can see.

 

Even the overflying planes cannot be seen, but only heard, overhead...

This is the way I like it...every year.

 

For some reason, this year, the start of the smoke has been very much delayed, compared to years gone by.

I think this might have been due to the FLOODING in CM, and here UP NORTH.

 

Now, though, thank the gods, the smoke is here, in earnest...and...now...

I will have the motivation I need to get out and ....EXERCISE in the THICK OF IT....

Down to HH & beyond.   Even breaking 100+ AQI about 100 kms south of HH.  Been some of the highest numbers this past few days, after a couple quite clear weeks.   Although 75+ isn't strange for this time of year, till the rains kick in.
