Wow, you had a whole entire paper route? Amazing. Give the plonker a round of applause, even though nobody gives a flying toss. 🤩

Hey ... I had a paper route, as a kid, 12/13 yrs old.  On Sunday, the damn bag of papers weighed more than me.  Think that was good for about $12 a week, if memory serves.   Big plus the distribution garage was at the beginning of my route.   Others had to carry them to the other side of town.

Then I moved on to linen service for restaurants, maybe $10 a day, but a 6 hr day.  Go with the owner, count used linen, and restock the restaurants with same count.   Learned early on how disgusting restaurant kitchens were.

Then before old enough to even have work papers, worked in a restaurant ($1 hr).  Violating every aspect of child labor laws.  Working till 0100 hrs during school nights, and back to back 12 shifts, overnight on weekends, since 24 hr restaurant.   And teachers use to wonder why I didn't show up in class or fell asleep in class :cheesy:

Remember when I got the working papers (16 yrs old), they were filled out for something like 2 hrs during the week (5-7pm) and 4hr on weekends.  What a joke.

Had a paper route when I was 25 yrs old also, on the rural roads of W.VA, delivering via car, before sunrise, and before going to first crap salaried airline job.   Also remember have 3 jobs, 2 PT, 1 FT, and another low paying airlines, till finally got a decent paying airline job.  That I got laid off from, thank you Carter.

That was it for me, eyes opened .... self employment & RE afterwards.  Finally paying 'myself' what I'm worth.

FFS..why do you lefties have to bring Trump into everything?   Seriously, what does Trump have to do with this topic?

Well how about the concept of inequality, how about the concept of a billionaire who utterly refuses to do anything to benefit mankind? How about pure stinginess and the way that affects the poor people of the world? How about when one of the richest nations on earth decides to pull back and stop helping the poorest of the poor?

Isn't that sort of on topic? You can accuse me of bringing Trump into every topic but I can accuse you of never being willing to discuss or criticize issues that you disapprove of, that he is responsible for. Or is such fealty required that it's simply not possible for a Trump supporter to criticize him anymore, on any level at any time?

That is very sad and quite scary.

Getting back to the topic.

I had to do farm chores at a young age already, later when i was in my teens the chores got more and any

school trips i did not go along because my time was better spent at home.

No issues for me there,it was what it was.

Later when i was working outside my home country i was just a farm laborer trying to make ends meet and eventough

this was hard i never had any resentment towards my boss who had a big farm and had time do do his hobbies.

I knew when he started farming he had it very hard in the early years and i thought he earned what he had.

Skip many years and now i am here and i have a gardener who has been working for me for the past 15 years or so.

No, i do not feel guilty for having more then he does and i don't believe he resents working for me because i have more then he has.

Sometimes when he is working in the hot sun and i am in the house or going out i think about this but again,it is what it is.

Is inequality fair?Maybe maybe not.

When i wanted more money i had to make it happen myself,i started to work for myself and worked my way up.

My gardener does not have that ambition.

That is up to him, nobody is holding him back.

You want the USA to borrow more money to give to Countries/people instead of those Countries/people  borrowing the money themselves ?

I think cutting back on some of the programs was a good idea, and I think doing an analysis on the program overall was necessary. I just think the way that Trump and Musk went about it was nasty, and pathetic. There are relatively small amounts of money that are helping to provide medicine to keep children alive, and helping to prevent disease that takes out tens of thousands of people in the poorest nations.

Those types of programs should not have been touched, and the fact that they were is testament to just how dark-hearted and malicious Trump and Musk truly are.

Are you even willing to discuss these kind of issues or is it strictly forbidden within your party?

Which Countries were those ?

My mother told me life was not fair early on, and I learned quickly she was right.

is it fair that some people are tall and attractive, while others are not?

Is it fair that some people are clever while others are thick?
