Why have egg prices come down? The US has been panic buying eggs from Austria, Norway, Spain and Denmark. The U.S. Department of Agriculture said it secured new egg commitments from Turkey and South Korea.

America needs to spend more of it's budget on eggs than expected.

Perhaps if they stopped killing millions of thier own chickens...they could lay eggs and the price would go back to "normal"  just a crazy idea.

Bird flu  yeah right !!  not.

Trump pledged to bring down food prices on Day One. Instead, eggs are getting more expensive

Updated  January 28, 2025

In August 2024, then-candidate former President Donald Trump delivered a press conference surrounded by packaged foods, meats, produce, condiments, milk and eggs.

“When I win, I will immediately bring prices down, starting on Day One,” he said at the time.

In February 2025, some grocery prices experienced declines, with dairy product prices falling by 1.0% and fresh vegetable prices decreasing by 1.7%.

This is why people shouldn't come on this forum and repeat stupid talking points. Both sides.

Just a few weeks ago you had posters acting like they were about to blow their wad because of what Trump said and egg prices. They would bark with so much pride and ridicule posters about it.

I expect those same posters to pretend that didn't happen and move onto their next angry attack.

2 eggs scrambled with a side of froth please.

Down from the high of $8+ USD just 3 weeks ago.  Now around $3 UsD a dozen

Even 33% cheaper than $4.13 a dozen, back in late Aug, early Sept 2024.

You buy them by the truck load, right?

Why You're Not Feeling Trump's Egg Price Plunge

Egg Prices: Retail vs. Wholesale

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the cost of graded, loose white large-shell eggs in truckload quantities has fallen to $3.27 per dozen. Trading Economics, which tracks daily price changes, found that the price of a dozen eggs had fallen to less than $3 for the first time since October, down from an historic high of $8.17 only weeks ago.

But the price tags at America's largest grocers appear to be telling a different story.

Kroger is currently selling a dozen Grade A large white eggs for $7.39, while Walmart offers cage-free variants at $7.12, or about 59 cents per egg. Other regional grocers are also showing a similar disparity between wholesale and in-store costs.

Eggs may be down 50 cents, but cars are about to be up 25%, or 5-10 thousand dollars.

They can still be Fords or Chevrolets, both lower quality than Chinese cars.

Yes, as title states ... prices have plummeted :coffee1:

Feel free to buy them by the truck or dozen.  Me, slab of 30 large #1s which average out to <$1.50 a dozen.  (30 125 baht)

Egg prices down from the high, both wholesale & retail, by ~50% +/- 10% from the silly high caused by Biden administration's policy of chicken culling, and mismanagement afterwards.... IMHO:cheesy:

So as a true MAGA supporter, you can't be bothered with the truth? And this thread is about eggs in the US, not in Thailand, so great deflection of you.

Wholesale prices for eggs have dropped, retail prices hardly have dropped.

Goodness! A MAGA told a lie?

What is this world coming to, when you can't even trust a disciple of the Second Coming!

Inflation is up from December. Stock market is down. Consumer Confidence is way down. The messiah is not omnipotent. Incompetent is more his speed. "Some people are saying" nobody is as incompetent as him; the most incompetent ever.

#1 eggs being <$1.50 a dozen here / TH.

This is my main reason for living in Thailand, in fact.

This just about halves my total living cost.

Deniers of bird flu.    So some of you think a farmer or con ag  should just let the  barn with 10,000 egg layers infect the rest of his barns and nearby producers?    They had to exterminate them just like they do pigs with swine flu.    It has now taken 4-5 months to get more hens to begin laying eggs.     It's stupid to blame any president on this disruption.   Now if trump hadn't pissed off all our  allies maybe some would have donated some eggs to help alleviate the pain some poor people felt.  I bet most MAGA's spend 2x more on beers or white claws than eggs.

Dec 2024 2.9%. Biden

Jan  2025 3.0%.  Biden

Feb 2025 2.8%.  Trump
