Why are Trump supporters so unwilling to criticize even some of his policies?

Wrong. Canada is a proud, vibrant and sovereign country that will continue being strong and free. Where do some of you Yanks get your unwarranted arrogance from?  Your country has been falling behind other developed countries for years and years. Look at your rankings in education, health care, infrastructure, etc....all falling apart. Nonetheless. you reserve the right to dictate to other countries that have no desire to emulate you in any shape or manner. Elbows up! Oh, and if you disagree, hit the link here and listen to what an American has to say about your country. It might offer you some insight that is clearly missing, likely due to a bad case of the Dunning Kruger effect.

No one cares about Canada.  It’s the hat of the USA.

What a remarkable statement. Why do Yanks always seem to think that "might makes right"...?  Lets see what you have to say when we turn off the power to about six million US households. Maybe you'll begin to realize a few things then...

I've certainly heard of the concept of a sore loser in the past, but I've never really seen a great example of a sore winner. I'm seeing an awful lot of gloating and it's of a rather nasty variety. It just seems to be the continuation of the kind of division and hatred that the fake master has forged, and established, and his devotees seem to be continuing to run with the torch, and doing a great job of continue the animosity.

It's precisely the opposite of what he promised which was to unify the country, however many of us knew this was exactly what was going to happen. Anytime Trump says something you can more or less predict the exact opposite is going to happen.

Any sort of individuality and any of your own opinions are not welcome within the maga movement. You have to subscribe to the policies of the master and if you disobey, if you disagree you are thrown under the train, or you are considered to be disloyal.

As prices rise and 99% of the MAGA faithful start to realize that they have been duped into a bizarre cult, it will be hard for them to admit their miscalculations. But, as their 401k's tank, their social security payments don't arrive and their jobs disappear, they will finally understand what has happened. Its hard to imagine what will happen then, but it won't be pretty.

I can't even begin to imagine once their intellects perceive the fact that their hearts have been betrayed. It is a bit like being assaulted by a priest, I would imagine, in a sense that this was somebody that you deeply trusted and now you realize that he was a con man after all, and the Democrats were right.

It's going to be very hard for most Republicans to admit that the Dems were right about Trump. And that he was not even close to the man who they thought he was, and that his agenda was incredibly sinister after all.

I think Don is making a mistake by not wiping Gaza and Iran off the face of the earth.

I think Don is making a mistake by not deputizing National Guard cadre as Deputy US Marshalls and begin sweeping known illegal alien areas and arresting them.

I think Don is making a mistake by not immediately begin to impose a tax on all non US Citizen Remittances to Mexico.

I think Don is making a mistake by not immediately saving the people of Cuba and he should send in the Marines and the Engineers. Not a shot will be fired.

Don should take the Congo up on their offer.

I think you are making a mistake writing down things that don't make any sense. Wiping Gaza and Iran off the face of the Earth?  Are you insane? Have you ever been to Gaza or Iran? I have, and If you went, you would quickly realize that 99% of the people are perfectly normal, not to mention totally innocent. Consider the US....generally speaking, people are not at all  concerned about average US citizens, but many, including myself, are concerned about the people who have leadership roles, as they have proven themselves to be clueless within only a couple of months of being in power. Secondly, denying due process to "so called" illegals is both legally and morally nonsensical. Everyone agrees that criminal aliens should be forced to leave, but even they deserve due process, for it is a LAW in the USA. Stop drinking the Trump Koolaid and come back to your senses!

The whole Trump phenomenon is a textbook case of boiling the frog—a slow descent into authoritarianism that his supporters either don’t notice or willingly ignore.

It started with just words—little breaches of norms, like mocking opponents, attacking the press, and cozying up to dictators. Then came the real heat: undermining institutions, refusing to accept election results, and calling for political retribution. By the time he's openly saying he’ll be a dictator "only on day one," the pot is practically at a rolling boil, but his supporters are too cooked to notice.

And why won’t they criticize him? Because they’re not just the frog in the pot; they’re the ones turning up the heat while yelling, "Feels like freedom!" Every time he pushes the line—whether it’s attacking democracy, stoking division, or threatening to jail opponents—they rationalize, excuse, or cheer it on.

By the time they do realize it (if ever), it’ll be too late. Either they’ll be left croaking, or they’ll insist that boiling alive was the plan all along.

Teasury Secretary Scott Bessent put it bluntly earlier this month when he pushed back against the idea that inexpensive products should be what Americans aspire to have. “Access to cheap goods is not the essence of the American dream,” he said in a speech to the Economic Club of New York.

Bessent is a blazing idiot, and ridiculously rich ivory tower trash.

Mr. Bessent, a former hedge fund investor who is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, underscored that point in a follow-up interview on NBC, arguing that prosperity is not about buying “cheap baubles from China.”

“The American dream is not ‘let them eat flat screens,’” he said, arguing that it is instead about having good jobs that are not lost to foreign competition and wages that are high enough to afford homes.

The comments renewed a debate within the Republican Party over the merits of trade barriers that in recent years has sidelined traditional conservatives who prize free trade. Former Vice President Mike Pence shot back at Mr. Bessent, asserting on social media that the Treasury secretary misunderstood the aspirations of Americans.

“Tariffs are good as a means to bring nations like China to the table, but free trade lowers the costs of goods and improves the quality of life for every American,” Mr. Pence wrote on the social media platform X.

But the haphazard rollout of the tariffs and the fact that any changes to the tax code will not occur until later this year have left economists, trade experts and analysts wondering about the viability of Mr. Trump’s strategy and doubtful that his administration can convince consumers that they are better off with higher prices.

“My bet would be that people will not be willing to swallow higher prices, lower 401(k)s, lower wealth in exchange for the principle of a nationalistic economy,” said Stephen Haber, a professor and senior fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research and the Hoover Institution. “Reality tends to trump ideology for most people.”

Pence is one of the few voices of reason left in the GOP.

He is right. Trump and Bessent are in no position to discuss inflation, and they are dead wrong. Why would they care how these tax hikes affect us? They don't. Not one iota.

Life is about jobs. Under Biden people stopped going to work, collected benefits, and america gave its money to others for nothing. If democrats understood anything about inflation they would be buying bitcoin. You are the essence of an out of touch american, you dont even know yourself whats in your best interest. Jews who support antisemitism, what a novel concept

Is this wrong?   Is the dream to have the latest iPhone and hip clothes and wonder if you will be able to educate your children?  Or is job stability and earning enough to own a home more important?
