Heard and McDonald Islands: 10% (charges U.S. 10%)

Wouldn't want some large country using one of their teeny, tiny territories to avoid tariffs.

Perfect example of current administration dipshhit decisions based only on some incorrect paperwork.  They have no desire for accuracy.  A shock and awful campaign.

Do they have any plans to retaliate?

They are pretty heavy people from all accounts. Descended from British navy mutineers and intermarried for generations. I had a friend from there who was the singer in a punk rock band. Maybe he will go there and <deleted> on Donald Trump's front lawn.

There is that Golden Showers with the Russian hookers tape. Melania has barely forgiven him for the Stormy Daniel’s thing and the other rapes.

Best not to poke the Russian bear.

Prove that tape exists or it's just another Democrat lie.

Melania isn't Russian.

So far you believe in something that doesn't exist, and don't know anything about geography. Are you a liberal winner?

Trade imbalances have nothing to do with tariffs. Trump is lying about tariff reciprocity. Belarus and North Korea also excused.

It's ok if you don't understand what is happening. Luckily there are more informed members ready to explain.

"The tariffs that go into effect Wednesday range from 10 percent to 40 percent on nearly 60 countries. They are calculated based on the U.S. trade deficit with each country and will be added to a 10 percent global levy that went into effect on Saturday."

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/07/us/politics/trump-tariffs-foreign-governments-negotiations.html

Can you guys finally understand it's not a straight tit for tat tariff but calculated to stop trade defecits? So sick of seeing people with no idea what is going on spitting their dummys out the pram 24/7.

Stop trying to gaslight us.

Did you see the Trump Tax Tariff Rose Garden event?

Notice how it was falsely presented.

RECIPROCAL TARIFFS.

Not based on reciprocity. Not based on tariffs either.

According to U.S. government data, the U.S. has recorded trade deficits with Norfolk Island for the past three years. The island exported $300,000 worth of goods to the U.S. in 2022, $700,000 in 2023 and $200,000 in 2024. Its imports from the U.S. stayed at $100,000 in those years.

And what about those uninhabited islands?

According to World Bank export data, the U.S. imported $1.4 million (A$2.23 million) worth of goods from Heard Island and McDonald Islands in 2022, with the vast majority classified as "machinery and electrical" products. The specific nature of these imports remains unclear.

OMG the Penguins on Heard Island have been busy exporting goods to the Land that has a lunatic in charge

It seems clear those figures are based on incorrect US data. A closer examination shows that the goods that were supposed to come from Norfolk Island, were actually based on data entries where the:

Quote

port of departure is Norfolk, UK, or the destination is Norfolk, Virginia in the US, or a company’s registered address in New Hampshire (NH) has been listed instead as Norfolk Island (NI).

The supposed US imports from Heard and McDonald Islands were also apparently based on mislabelled bills of lading.

Not that Norfolk! Mislabelled shipments led to Trump tariffs on uninhabited islands and remote outposts with no US trade

Perhaps if these tariffs hadn't been implemented in such a rushed and haphazard manner, such obvious errors could have been caught.

So you're saying that Biden Regime documentation is not to be trusted?

Let's get Doggie looking into this and see what else the Biden Regime has falsified.
