HCM City Emerges as Premier Healthcare Hub with Digital Innovations

Ho Chi Minh City has transformed into a leading healthcare centre since national reunification 50 years ago, establishing a robust and modern medical system. Tăng Chí Thượng, director of the city's Department of Health, notes that many hospitals now offer world-class specialist services attracting both local and international patients.

 

The city has prioritised community healthcare development, aiming to become a healthcare hub in ASEAN by 2030. As of last year, it boasts 21 doctors and 43 hospital beds per 10,000 people, aligning with global integration trends.

 

Significant advancements have occurred in medical technology, from organ transplants, in vitro fertilisation, and complex surgeries to advanced neurosurgery treatments. Hospitals utilise AI and digital health solutions to improve patient care. For instance, Thủ Đức City Hospital streamlines appointments via QR codes, enhancing patient convenience and reducing wait times.

 

 

 

Increased investment in digital transformation has led to more efficient healthcare services. Electronic health records and telemedicine facilitate seamless patient data sharing and remote specialist consultations, proving especially beneficial in suburban and rural areas.

 

Bình Dân Hospital stands out as a regional leader in robotic surgery, while other medical facilities increasingly adopt AI for diagnostics and treatment.

 

The city's focus on digital health, modern infrastructure, and international collaboration aims to elevate its healthcare sector, promising continued growth and innovation. Thượng highlights these efforts as crucial in positioning Ho Chi Minh City as a healthcare beacon in Asia, reported Vietnam News.
