" Most everybody in Washington thinks the tariffs are a good idea whether or not they admit it."

So you personally know "most everybody in Washington" ? If so, you really should choose friends that are prepared to stand by their beliefs!!!

Well, it appears the lefty's have been in favor of tariffs for quite some time.  They just want to admit it now because Trump is running the show.  Lefty's plus Trumpsters equal most everybody.

The Democrats had tariffs indeed, but then again, there are tariffs and tariffs, and what is happening right now is a <deleted> show from a mentally deranged person.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion.  POTUS Trump is doing EXACTLY what he campaigned on, and the vast majority of Americans voted and elected Trump to do what he promised.

If that was true, then why his biggest supporter doesn't agree with what he's doing?

Elon Musk's disagreements with the Trump administration on tariffs have dramatically spilled into public view, a break that had been a long time coming.

The difference is, that his voters don't have a voice now.

Lots of opinions coming from members of Trump's staff.  Since most of the liberal media loves to make a mountain out of a mole hill, they try to overplay everything.  Trump listens to opinions from many people including the people that disagree with him and then makes his decision.  The level of transparency in this administration is unprecedented unlike the previous administration that kept everything a hidden from the public and relied on the liberal news media to lie about it for 4 years.  You only know about people who present opposing views because the POTUS allows it.  This "IS" what the voters wanted whether you like it or not.

Let's face the reality here, Trump is threatening the well-being of the entire planet, with his ridiculously dumb policies, causing untold amounts of fear and concern, and it's all for nothing. America's never going to become the industrial might that it used to be, Trump and his goons dare busy dreaming about returning manufacturing to America, it's just never going to happen.

It's just too expensive to manufacture in America these days and there are a dozen good reasons why those companies left in the first place. Trump is not bringing them back, this is pie in the sky nonsense and with it is coming a tremendous amount of fear and destruction. The man needs to be stopped. He needs to be put on medication.

Don't worry, Thailand will still get plenty of money from their tariffs, no need to even come to Thailand to get ripped off by them 🤣

Which tariffs ? Maybe not so clear, but.. His Always Lying,  Unendless Wisdom, the “grab-them-by-the-pussy “president of the USA imposed much higher tariffs on what is IMPORTED on goods from outside the USA, on which = much higher product of these products inside the USA.

So it seems that von der Leyen is ready for a zero-zero deal like some S.E Asian countries.

He who laughs last laughs best.

With for many imported items a 1-4 % import duty of goods from outside the EU, a big deal. Total value of levied import duty of US goods the EU in, as about a 1,25 %. Only His Always Lying, Unendless Wise "grab-them-by-the-pussy", president of the USA, made his own calculation about import tariffs. See https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/dds2/taric/taric_consultation.jsp?Lang=en. For the majority of the Americans to complicated.

Trump’s tariffs will have no impact on tourism.

Why any increase of prices of "foreign goods" in the US, caused by Trump's tariffs, will have any influence on tourism, except then Amerikcans will have a lot less money to spend ?

I believe it will get progressively more expensive to fly on American made planes as their manufacturing costs rise. Modern planes use a lot of foreign parts, which is going to cause rising ticket prices.

Trump did the absolute best to increase the prices of all US assembled planes. He should get the highest award from Airbus ever granted.

Hasn’t affected me.  Still have the same amount of buying power.

BTW, in 6 months when the dust settles it will be better than ever.

The continuously crashing stock market disagrees with your analysis.

The stock market will settle down, as will the 10% who own 90% of everything, and don't like getting less than 100% returns on their investments

The US economy and stock market have been booming the last two years....In the last 4 trading days. the US markets have lost over of $6 trillion dollars...never seen such a % drop since the 1929 depression....The super wealthy will continue to travel....With upper and middle classes IRAs being hit hard, people will travel less especially internationally given the chaos and lack of leadership at the top

The US economy has been on a debt driven sugar buzz from all the Bidenbucks being dumped into it.  The real numbers aren't as great as the hype.

That's just crazy talk. Trump never campaigned on violence, actually quite the opposite.

I am absolutely thrilled to see that Trump has put a pause on the tariffs, it might be an indication that he was not hellbent on worldwide destruction of the economy, and that he is actually sensible enough to be interested in negotiations.

He would have been far wiser to have given the world notice and giving them a 90 or 180 day window to negotiate deals rather than act like a total spastic and levy these tariffs without warning.

He still needs to work something out with China, without a China deal all bets are off for America.

Really? I suppose that is why he has done a "temporary"  U turn on his tariffs plan? Listened to  his opponents who said it was a bad idea?

“worldwide destruction of the economy“

in your words, how will that come about?

Just look at the passengers arriving. Mostly men over 50. I heard three French men bragging about spending a week in Bangkok and never leaving their bedrooms ! So , unless Trump rises taxes on Soi Six and Bangla rd, nothing will change.

Spider, insider trading for his friends and family wouldn't work without the tariff announcements, market reactions, test the waters with a fake 90-day pause, get all prepared for insider trading when he announced the actual 90-day pause.  MO of course that so many in the US govt do get rich off of insider trading and that is why they can't get a bill outlawing it!

You’re making this more complicated than it needs to be.

Even Nancy Pelosi didn’t have to be this creative for her insider trading.

Yeah for sure as she just steered govt contracts to her husband's business. IMHO they are almost all just like that no matter their party affiliation.  Works around the world too.

Most everybody in Washington and on Wall Street, thinks the tariffs are ridiculous, except for the sycophantic republicans in Congress and the Senate.

Trump is now in a death spiral and the recent retaliation of China and their 104% tariffs  on the $143 billion in US exports to China, plus the trillions of dollars in goods made in China by US companies, will simply precipitate his downfall and that of MAGA along with him.

Just watch and see, this didn't have to happen but he imposed this upon himself and the world, and he's going to pay a tremendous price for his arrogance, his stupidity, and his astonishing level of ignorance about world trade. Bye, bye Don.

Hope so - he's a danger to mankind with his unpredictable, bullying  behaviour.
