As the holy period of reflection approaches, the Manila Police District (MPD) has intensified security measures to ensure public safety and order during this time of increased travel. Under the leadership of the newly appointed MPD Director, Brig. Gen. Benigno L. Guzman, inspections have been conducted across key bus terminals in Sampaloc to evaluate and fortify security preparations.

The inspection team visited several major transport hubs, including A and B Liner on Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard, Fariñas Bus Line along Lacson Avenue, Partas Bus Terminal on Laong Laan Street, and Viron Transit on Blumentritt Street. These evaluations focused not only on the security apparatus but also on the welfare of officers, ensuring they are equipped and ready to handle the uptick in travelers and respond promptly to any incidents.

Col. Brillante F. Billaoac, Station Commander of Sampaloc Police Station, affirmed the MPD’s commitment to safeguarding travelers. "Our priority is to protect the safety and well-being of every traveler. Team PS4 is ready to fulfill its mandate to maintain peace and order and extend assistance to the commuting public," he stated.

With a notable increase in police visibility at terminal areas, the MPD aims to deter criminal activity and provide immediate support when necessary. They encourage public cooperation and vigilance, urging everyone to stay aware of their surroundings, report any suspicious activities, and adhere to security protocols for a peaceful and safe Holy Week experience.

As the city gears up for this solemn period, the Manila Police District’s enhanced safety measures seek to provide a secure environment, reassuring travelers and facilitating a smooth observance of Holy Week traditions, reported Manila Bulletin.
