Workplace Tragedy in Bình Dương Claims Three Lives, Investigation Ongoing

In a tragic incident at Bình Dương's KSB Industrial Park, three workers lost their lives in a serious workplace accident. The event unfolded on Thursday at Minh An Vina Co., Ltd., located in Đất Cuốc Commune. Local police, alongside the Bình Dương Provincial Police's criminal division, are diligently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.

 

The accident occurred during a renovation project at the facility. According to initial reports, the workers arrived at the site around 7am, and a metal support structure collapsed during dismantling, tragically striking the victims. Trịnh Văn Quốc, aged 36 from Sóc Trăng Province, and Trần Quốc Thanh, 33 from Bình Dương Province, were killed instantly. Trần Văn Lợi, 45 from Kiên Giang Province, succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital.

 

Preliminary investigations suggest that the renovation was undertaken without the necessary permits, prompting a comprehensive probe into regulatory compliance and overall site safety practices.

 

 

 

In the wake of this tragedy, local authorities have extended condolences and financial assistance to the bereaved families. The Bình Dương Industrial Zones Authority's Trade Union provided VNĐ10 million (approximately US$385) to each family. Additional support was offered by KSB Industrial Park's head investor, the Bắc Tân Uyên District Labour Union, and the Đất Cuốc Commune People’s Committee, with each contributing VNĐ10 million and VNĐ5 million respectively.

 

This incident underscores the critical need for stringent safety protocols and regulatory adherence in workplace environments to prevent similar tragedies in the future. The ongoing investigation aims to bring clarity to the incident, ensuring accountability and reinforcing safety standards, reported Vietnam News.
