Maybe when the I/O scans your passport the TDAC comes up on the screen as being completed.

You could be right.....But honestly I dont know......Alls I do know is the TDAC seemed to be confusing mess at immigration.

The input screen and release notes indicate you can auto-complete your personal details by scanning or uploading a pic of your passport.  Has anyone got this to work?

Like I said this maybe true? But I just cant believe EVERYONE had done the TDAC in that massive line at immigration when I was there last night......I saw no one getting turned away......Possibly things will be more strict in the future?

I came through on 1 May and a number of people were turned away at passport control and had to go back to complete their TDAC at a kiosk (and join the back of the queue!)

You use the number on your re-entry permit if you have one.

They didnt accept the slash between the digits, thats why I was refused in my first try, and while I was asking here, the rest of my information I filled in was deleted, and had to restart the first page.

Ah. Maybe try a hyphen or a full stop?

Just guessing here as I haven't done a TDAC myself.

The field is retricted to alphanumerics only.  I would just omit the slash.

The TDAC shows up in their computer when they scan your passport.

(At airports. Not sure re land border crossings)

Hi Sheryl.

A few days ago I crossed into Thailand via the O'Smach land border crossing from Cambodia. I presented my passport with my TDAC printed paper form. (no smartphone).

The IO scanned and stamped my passport. This was returned to me along with the TDAC form. I asked if he should keep the TDAC form and he said no. All had been completed. I destroyed the TDAC form. I presumed the relevant information was already on Thai Immigration's computer.

There are indications that the TDAC may become a required piece of information for future extensions or applications, similar to how you used to need a copy of your TM6 card.  The BOI recently posted a guide on transferring your visa to a new passport, and one of the requirements was a copy of your TDAC if you entered on or after May 1st.

Did the fact that you "saw no one getting turned away" at immigration at the airport lead you to conclude that "the TDAC seemed to be confusing mess at immigration"?

Because you are arriving with a valid re-entry permit, not with a valid visa, and because data entry for the field "Visa No." is not compulsory, you are free to leave that field empty. That's what I would do in your situation.

If no visa nr, can you leave the departure open as well?

I would leave the field "Visa No." blank because the number of the re-entry permit is not a visa number.

The departure information is not compulsory either.  Compulsory fields are marked with a red star.

Yes, you can leave the field "Visa No." blank, regardless whether or not you have a visa. Personally, when I have a visa, I shall enter its number in the  TDAC form and show the immigration official a printout of the visa.

Yes, definitely. It is no a required field, ie has no red asterisk next to it.

This may be because visa numbers generally include no slash and because they don't want numbers of other things entered in that field.

Thanks for the information but with respect, I live in retirement in Cambodia so all this TDAC and other nonsense does not apply to me when it comes to visas. That is why I destroyed my form after clearing entry into Thailand - no further use.
