American version of Adolf Hitler

A historically Jewish newspaper compared President Donald Trump's tactics to a scheme used by Germany's Adolf Hitler before World War II. "Trump has created an American version of Adolf Hitler's 'Dolchstosslegende,' also known as the 'stabbed-in-the-back' lie," the article in Forward said.

'American version of Adolf Hitler': Major Jewish newspaper makes stark Trump comparison

You have misrepresented the article. It was an OP-ED,  an opinion. Why  describe it as the newspaper  comparing anyone? The newspaper  did not do that. You obviously  do not understand what an OP-ED is. An op-ed (abbreviated from "opposite the editorial page") is an opinion piece that appears on a page in the newspaper dedicated solely to them, often written by a subject-matter expert, a person with a unique perspective on an issue, or a regular columnist employed by the paper.   Forward has a relatively small paid  audience of between 5,000 and 10,000. (Advertised circulation of 28,000 which includes freebies and complimentary  access).

If your intent was to show that a Jewish audience media outlet is associated   Mr. trump with nazis, you are wrong. All they did was present was an opinion contrary to the editorial board's opinion.

If you look at the history of The Forward Association is NOT contrary to the "editorial board"'s opnion(s). Its evolved from a Yiddish socialist newspaper, and is considered leftwing.

You believe that Terrance Petty is someone who writes contrary to the Editorial Board's opinions. He's written similar articles for The Forward before:

https://forward.com/opinion/702025/trump-media-assault-hitler-third-reich-goebbels/

This piece from another writer does appear to express the sentiments of the Board (there is no disclaimer)

Its a negative story about the American President.

The current Editor in Chief is Jane Eisener. You can judge her view on the current occupant of the White House. Those views are not inconsistant with a views of Mr Petty

Further, The Forward did a Jewish rating for all 47 American Presidets

https://forward.com/culture/482596/presidents-day-jewish-trump-biden-kennedy-reagan-obama/

Quote

Donald Trump

First president to have a Jewish daughter. First president to suggest people marching with Neo-Nazis were “very fine people” on national television and sign the Yad Vashem guest book “so amazing and will never forget.” Credit where it’s due, the Abraham Accords and the move of the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem were very big deals. Will it be what most American Jews remember him for? I doubt it.

Jewish rating: Ketchup on the Kushner brisket

Donald Trump Part 2

The new Trump administration can take at least partial credit for a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas that saw the return of (so far) some Israeli hostages from Gaza. After meeting with Netanyahu early in his second term, Trump shocked the world by vowing to make Gaza an American possession and relocate its residents to Egypt and Jordan, a move critics are calling ethnic cleansing but that many Israelis and far-right Zionists are embracing. We can argue if this plan is truly feasible, good for the region or good for the Jews, but Trump’s continued insistence that American Jews have dual loyalty or are somehow less Jewish for voting for Democrats places a large asterisk on a legacy that is still taking shape.

Jewish rating: “Gaz-a-Lago” could be restricted

The ppaper has published many articles comparing the American to a Nazi or Hitlet. They complained about Voice of America, which was established to fight Nazi propaganda, is facing cuts from the 47th President. They reported on Pritzker making an out and out comparison of the 47th President's policies tom Nazi Germany. Repeated articles about the anti-semitism of the people he is associated with, such as Musk and West. They published an article in the proposed Gaza resettlement plan directly to The Final Solution. They have compared the current Administration's website purging to Nazi book burning. They said Joe Kent has White Supremacist connections.

Various articles appearing on "The Forward" comparing the 47th President to Hitler and the Nazis.

What you quote isn't far from the truth, and NOT a myth.

But I don't, didn't need to read any article, topic, with a title comparing Trump to Hitler.  You can't pull what Hitler did in Germany, in the USA.  Too many checks & balance, and at best, you'd only get away with it for 4 yrs.

That's if someone didn't, don't cap your A$$ 😎

He was already president for 4 yrs, and the USA didn't collapse, or start WW3.

He's one man, and can barely rule by executive order, as already seen, fed judges have already stopped a couple.  A state or 2 already said they'd ignore one.

Got mid terms in <2 yrs, and he'll lose Congress, so can't finance or cancel anything for more than 2 more years after that.

The Constitution is a beautiful document.  Aholes get 4 years tops, if the country isn't behind them.

Keep embarrassing yourselves by posting your BS, gives intelligent people a chuckle.

There is no guarantee trump admin will be limited to four years; especially given the graven submission of the GOP and it's failure to act during trump 1.0.

Yes, there is a guarantee, this is his last administration.  It's in the Constitution, and only allowed to be elected to 2 administrations.

Only way he'd be president again, would be getting elected as VP, and something happen to the elected president, whether dying, quitting or impeached & out of office.

The Forward is not a bastion of journalism, nor is it known for  its investigative stories. The opinion of a writer that  has no more than 10,000  paying customers is hardly the basis  to get excited over  an opinion piece.  President Trump is not a Nazi and it is  cheap politics to keep trying to categorize his administration as nazi.

You are fast backtracking. You implied the article was an outlier for that publication, and it expressed views that there was no evidence the "editorial board" (which is one person) shared. I presented evidence that (1) this particular author, a retired journalist, was a regular contributor (2) the article, whatever Americanese nonsense word you call it (write in English, man, not the language of the kids), was entirely inline with the ethos of that publication.

You seem to have gotten very excited about a publicaton with a small circulation, because you chose twice to respond, instead of the normal thing of just moving on. Instead, it seems you decided to spend a few hours of your day frantically Googling to find some hit piece on the publication, a publication by your own admission, as an unpaid footman of the goverment, you admit no one reads.

And no one pays for the article. That's why you were able to read it. The publication is owned by a non-profit organisation, not with "subscribers" as you put it, but supporters.

The publication also used to be in Yiddish only.

Not possible under the Constitution.

12th and 22nd Amendments; read them. they are pretty clear. Of course, an Amendment can be amended, but that is unlikely in this case, in the extreme.

When he has served 2 terms as President, he is constitutionally ineligable for the office of Vice President.

If anything, it is easier for a President to suspend or delay an election. He or she doesn't need to change a Constitution. Congress just needs t amend a Federal law, to be voted by simple majority of both houses, and then approved by a President. That's easier than getting two thirds of States to agree to a change in the Constitution. There would of course be a judicial challenge. If it was to succeed though, the 20th Amendment means the election must be held in January.

Trump is not Hitler — but the echoes are impossible to ignore.

Both were shaped by domineering fathers who imposed strict expectations, discouraged their early ambitions, and emphasized control, toughness, and external success over emotional development.

These dynamics arguably fueled a deep desire for domination and personal supremacy — a mindset in which winning means others must lose, with no room for compromise or shared success.

Such traits are consistent with narcissistic personality disorder, marked by their grandiosity, lack of empathy, and constant need for admiration.

Each incited failed coups, became convicted criminals, and built loyal followings through propaganda, slogans, and mass rallies.

They framed the media as enemies, thrived on personal loyalty, and rejected democratic limits.

Both promoted a vision of national supremacy, celebrated authoritarian strength, and admired strongmen.

Trump repeatedly expressed praise for dictators — including Putin, Kim Jong-un, and even, according to reports, once remarked “Hitler did some good things.”

His ex-wife claimed he kept a book of Hitler’s speeches, My New Order, near his bed.

History doesn’t repeat — but it rhymes loudly.

Mary, please.

Nobody said he was literally Hitler or literally a Nazi.
