Chaos broke out in central Khon Kaen on the 23 April, after a trailer truck carrying a backhoe followed GPS directions into the city centre, snagging overhead power lines and causing a utility pole to crash down onto a black Honda saloon, damaging the vehicle and injuring its occupants.

The incident occurred as he was returning from a barbecue dinner dare with his girlfriend, who was also injured in the crash.
