A coordinated effort involving police, rescue workers, and a good Samaritan recently resulted in the successful rescue of an elderly man found unconscious in a locked car along Highway 340 in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province. Quick thinking and decisive action were pivotal in transporting the man to a hospital for urgently needed medical care.

The incident unfolded on April 27, when Lat Bua Luang Police, Ayutthaya Ruam Jai rescue teams, and a concerned passerby were alerted to a suspiciously unmoving vehicle in the Sam Mueang subdistrict. Responding to the call, officers found a Chevrolet with its engine off and an elderly man inside, clutching the gear stick, but unresponsive.

Despite repeated efforts to awaken the man by knocking on the window, the situation grew dire, prompting the team to decide to break the car window. Initial attempts with a metal baton were thwarted by the window's thickness. Not deterred, the team employed a combination of a window punch and a brick to successfully shatter the glass, allowing them to reach the man.

Once accessed, the elderly man was found to be conscious yet too feeble to move. He was immediately transported to Lat Bua Luang Hospital for emergency care. Police Sergeant Krailert Hua Sungnoen commended the efforts, noting the department's commitment to public safety, even when faced with unexpected situations. He also expressed gratitude to the good Samaritan and rescue personnel for their vital assistance.

An update from the elderly man's daughter indicated that he had suffered a stroke. He is being treated at Thammasat University Hospital, where his condition remains stable but critical. The collaboration and quick response by all involved played a crucial role in ensuring the man received timely medical attention, exemplifying community spirit and effective emergency response.
