Farage doesn't have a hope of ever being PM.

Also, Local Elections and the occasional by-election are when voters decide to vote against the ruling party just to register their disappointment in the government. Then, come the General Election they normally return to their normal party vote.

One mid-term flash in the pan by-election doth not make a new PM.

If Farage can't be bothered to meet his constituents in Clacton he is hardly likely to become PM.

I used to watch him speak while in the EU. Just scoffing but with no ideas.

Reform will

It can be done, as Trump has shown.

Everyone knows (that buyer's remorse follows on these victories), but the political pendulum is slowly lurching RIGHT (see US, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Austria) but a right that used to be solid left!!  (See England.)

Not a fan of Farage , brilliant orator when explaining things simply but when he gets close  to power everything seems to fall apart ???

Yeah, he smokes too much (listen to his gravelly voice) and downs too many pints while seeming to pi$$ himself laughing in the pub.  Reminds me of Kamala Harris (the cackler).

But if Reform can find themselves a credible leader, they will be the official opposition in 2029....

I *love* these types of Threads,   ....   it give me an opportunity to identify-and-block/ignore *lots* of Right-Wing Extremists and Racists, and thereby ease my daily-experience on Asean-Now.

*Why* would there be a General-Election called *this* month ?

The man *talks* ...., but he talks a *lot* of Nonsense/Sh*te, and he's able to do that because he's *never* been In-Charge of *Anything*.   ....   ...  Can Reform run/*improve* the Social-Care provisions in the Towns where they have a won a Majority  -  which forms the *largest* part (by-*far*) of Local-Authority Spending  -  ... let's see.

They have started already in the council seats they just won

"I think you all better really be seeking alternative careers," he warned council staff who were "working on climate change initiatives, or Diversity, Equality and Inclusion" or opting to work from home.

He added: "We want to give council taxpayers better value for money, reduce excessive expenditure, find out who long-term contracts are with, reduce the scale of local government back to what it ought to be - providing social care, providing SEN needs for kids, mending pot holes."

Reform UK could take the government to court to prevent migrants being housed in areas where it now controls the local council, party chairman Zia Yusuf told the BBC.

The only way Reform will be beaten is if Labour manage to stop the hundreds of fighting age men from landing on UK beaches every day, and send back the thousands who already arrived.

All Labour have done so far is encourage more to come. As soon as they ripped up the Rawanda plan the migrants started coming in even higher numbers, breaking all records.

Labour (and Tories) have been too soft on the economic migrants, allowing the ECHR to block deportations, even for convicted criminals including rapists.

There is no deterrent, and on the contrary the fake asylum seekers get treated like holidaymakers. It's a massive incentive for economic migrants.

If this continues then I truly believe Reform will win the next election.

But Farage has been clear that he will not kick out all the illegal immigrants that are already in the UK. He'll just try to stop more coming in. He won't be taking action on the grooming gangs either.  He's just a gobby <deleted> who can't be trusted on anything. Having said that, Labour and Conservative are a disgrace, so what alternative is there? Another party forming? I don't see that working, just taking away votes from Reform which could result in another Conservative government.
