Trump isn't losing the trade wars.  But why argue about that?  Just sit back and watch what happens.

I'm getting popcorn ready for that. Sadly, many Americans will be unable to do the same once shelves start emptying out in a few days...

That's what some people think, but according to them, it will be about six weeks or so.

Other people think it won't be so bad, but there will be shortages of some items.

People are nuts.  Did you ever hear about Strawberry Pop Tarts?  Every time there's about to be a hurricane, people in the affected areas stock up on Strawberry Pop Tarts for some reason, according to Wal Mart.  What's wrong with Blueberry Pop Tarts?

Anyway, China is on the verge of collapse, despite what the propaganda machine wants you to think.  A collapsed real estate market, bankrupt mortgage lenders, closing factories, a looming copper shortage, and a very restless middle class. I could go on.

Oh, do go on.

Maybe link some videos by China Observer or China Insight or whichever Falun Gong propaganda outlet is being highlighted this week.

What else does Gordon Chang have to say?

For what it's worth, I've never heard of Gordon Chang, and I'm pretty sure I've never heard of the China Observer or China Insight.  I know people in China, though.

I don't follow the news, minute by minute. The deal almost finished is probably with Vietnam. They aren't stupid and know which side of their bread is buttered.

I'm comfortable with my prediction.  A deal will happen, and life will go on.  Trump won't walk away empty handed.

Popcorn prices?  That's from the US Midwest, right? If you're in the USA, there's probably no need to stock up on much of that.  And it doesn't take up much room, in any event. Buy a few big jars of Orville Redenbecker popcorn and you're all set for the duration.

When you get honest answers to my questions, get back to me.

What exactly has the U.S. lost in the past?
Why are you a loser when a vendor doesn’t buy something from you?
And if I just sit back and watch, will popcorn prices become any cheaper?

Decades of abuse from unfair trade policies.

Wow, what a great deal that must be.

Vietnam exports 140 Billion $ to the US and imports less than 14 Billion $.

Guess who is the loser in such a deal?

Why no civilized countries are interested in a deal with Trump?

US trade deficit surges to record high in March

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The U.S. trade deficit widened to a record high in March as businesses boosted imports of goods ahead of tariffs, which dragged gross domestic product into negative terrain in the first quarter for the first time in three years.

The trade gap jumped 14.0% to a record $140.5 billion from a revised $123.2 billion in February, the Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) said on Tuesday.

Economists polled by Reuters had forecast the trade deficit rising to $137.0 billion from the previously reported $122.7 billion in February.

Another MAGA poster who can’t answer honest questions with facts — because doing so would mean admitting the truth and condemning their leader. And that’s the one thing cult loyalty just won’t allow.

Tell us what “the facts” are and in regards to what.

You can wait until morning to answer.  You may want to edit after sobering up.

There's not much use in having a dialogue with these people. Typically, they reference "facts" as if they're self evident, without specifying what they're talking about.

It's easier just to sit back and watch history unfold.  And when it does, they slink away and won't come back.  They'll never admit they've been brainwashed.

Do you seriously think no deals will happen?  Canada, Mexico, China, India, Japan. The EU countries.

They'll all make deals.

Agreed.

I remember when they swore up and down Biden was NOT cognitively impaired.  Now it’s coming out of the woodwork from their own people.

They tried to say Trump was cognitively impaired .  The man with twice the energy and work ethic as someone half his age.

“Trump will never win the election “ .  The rest is history.

Edit:  Speaking of history.

Don't you think it is strange that NONE of those countries have confirmed that they are talking with Trump, some of them have even straight out DENIED they are negotiating a deal.

Just for those who aren't paying attention:

The news this morning is that representatives from China and the USA will be meeting in Switzerland to begin the negotiation process.  Perhaps China isn't so invincible, after all.

Maybe the Chinese are up on this -- from the Pensacola, FL, case being handled by the conservative Pacific Legal Foundation *:

1. Plaintiff challenges President Trump’s unlawful use of emergency power to impose a tariff on all imports from China.

* (PLF has) been fighting for freedom since 1973. Over our 50 years, we've brought 20 cases to the Supreme Court and won 18 victories, including landmark cases in property rights and administrative law.

* President Trump’s tariffs may be new—no president has ever claimed the power to levy tariffs under IEEPA before—but the executive branch claiming power it doesn’t rightly have isn’t. We’ve been suing to stop it for decades.
