No sympathy. What do you expect when you pick up a street prostitute? They are not  working the streets because they actually want to have sexual intercourse with disgusting men. Rather, they are there to make money to pay off drug or gambling debts, or because of poverty. The people who freelance the streets  are usually turned out by the bars because they have HIV or  have a history of stealing or violence.  This is not a secret.  The police were  nice to entertain the complaint.

That doesn't give them the right to steal from anyone.  They should still face the law & punishment for stealing.

It ain't worth 350 kangaroo bucks and 3,500 baht to have your name published in a dodgy Pattaya newspaper over an incident involving a thieving coconut bar working girl. I'd pay 5 times that to keep my name out of the paper.

He must have sharp eyes to allegedly recognise the girl wearing different clothes.  Must have been something distinctive about her - assuming of course it was a she.  This sort of stunt is usually associated with chicks that have dicks. :coffee1:

I hate these BS stories, every tik tok creator will tell you Thailand is safe... Every Thai will tell you, Thai do nothing wrong, must be farang fault.... Who am I to believe. Oh I forgot, it must be those Burmese or Cambodians.

Disabled has nothing to do with it. He's an old hand. A former pimp who was convicted of human trafficking.

As the Thai economy worsens Pattaya sex workers and gatoeys will steal more and more both in guest rooms and on the street. Eventually, if the client's room has a safe, they'll walk out with it too. Pattaya is a place where morality is at rock bottom. Crime is a given and will only worsen. Go forward 5, 10, 15, or even 20 years. What do you think the situation will be in Pattaya?

I don't recall ever needing a shower after a "friendly conversation", much less with her still in the room.

I'd have called the 3500 baht and $350AUD a learning lump and kept my mouth shut.  What's his most favorable outcome?  He said - she said?

(Besides, what's that in real money, about $25 all in?)

10,876 baht = $330 (US) approximately, in "real money" so you're a bit out with your assumption.

Was he able to walk into the shower or did he have to take the wheelchair in?

If he was incapacitated (unlikely) how was he expecting to perform?

"At approximately 01:10, Mr Keith William Dobie, a 65-year-old Australian national, arrived at Pattaya City Police Station "

A little late fro Mr. Dobie wheeling around ...  joking aside, if this is his fiirst trip here I can sympathise with his situation. Being old and disabled in Australia, or any other place, doesn't help in the dating game. But as far as robbry stories, it could be a lot worse.  He didn't get drugged or beat up.

What does he care. An old man in a wheelchair. If i was so old and it happened to me, I would not care about others seeing I wanted to get laid and got robbed instead.

Happened to me years ago in Bangkok. But it was a bar girl not a freelancer. The stupid lady stole 5000 baht from my pockets when i took a shower.I had f...her already and paid her. When i was out of the bathroom she had left.

I change clothes and was ready to go to the hotelbar when i find out she have steel 5000 baht.

I went to the bar with a policefriend of me.We confronted the lady who denied steeling.

The bar manager was wery upset. The police check her bag and wallet but didn't find anything. After a while a female policeofficer arrived and when searching her she found the money inside her bra.I get my money back and the manager fired the lady on the spot and told her to never come back again

And now she's working Pattaya's coconut bar and robbing dim Aussies.

Yes stealing is wrong. As you appear to be a strong advocate of law enforcement here,  why are you not calling for the soliciting party to be prosecuted too? The man did solicit  a prostitute on the street in a public place  for the purpose of prostitution.

PREVENTION AND SUPPRESSION OF PROSTITUTION ACT, B.E. 2539 (1996)1

Section 5. Any person who, for the purpose of prostitution, solicits, induces, introduces herself or himself to, follows or implores a person in a street or a public place, or commit such acts in any other place, in an open and shameful manner or causes nuisance to the public, shall be liable to a fine not exceeding one thousand baht.

And if he has a criminal  conviction, should he not be deported too?

Sounds more like a law and order type. One law for him and another for the riff raff.

Some of these women are vipers. You are the prey. She even changed and went right back to it.

Harsh.

What do you expect from prostitutes? Damn, in the first place, most prostitutes work out of desperation and/or have very low moral character. So, of course they are opportunistic and will steal when they have the chance. Any punter who thinks otherwise deserves to be taught a lesson. Damn, I rarely do pay for play but if I do I make sure and make my dwelling "hooker proof" if I decide to take one back to the house. You got tohide anything valuable that you'd miss. So, the man is disabled, but do you think that matters to a desperate Pattaya Beach street walker? You'd think some of these  punters left common sense, if they had any, back in the home country. Wow. Pretty daft.

The gimp got what he deserved. Has form in Australia for sex trafficking and pimping. No sympathy at all.

After returning to the hotel, he went to take a shower. When he emerged, the woman had disappeared, along with the cash he had left in his trouser pocket.

Mongering 101: never leave valuables unmonitored.

There's desperation. Then there's ripping off a guy in a wheelchair.

If his ding a Ling still works you think the guy in the wheelchair was thinking anything other than....

I'm gonna nut tonight. Proper.
