You havent, you cant, you wont There you are quoting me out of context. I’ll tell you what it is, a limited deal that can be withdrawn at the whim of Trump. What it is not is comprehensive, and it is not a Trade Agreement, which would require approval by Congress and could not be withdrawn at whim by Trump.

Giving the man-child a few crumbs to offer his supporters, both foreign and domestic, while de-escalating Trump’s aggression against the UK economy. So yes, good work by Starmer, his pragmatism is exactly the right approach. Seems to me the way to deal with trump is give him a little bit to crow about but make sure you take care of your needs first.this is typical trump play book create a problem create chaos then claim you fixed it.anyway when it all comes out in the wash I hope it alleviates some of the harm…. 1 1 1

bamnutsak Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago We have a trade SURPLUS with the U.K. The U.K. has an effective overall tariff rate of 1%. The U.K. has to pay 10% tariff rate on their exports to the U.S. The U.K. has to buy $10 Billion worth of aircraft (Boeing), supplied with tariff-exempt RR engines (presumably). Trade agreements need to be ratified by Congress. So much winning. At best, this was a draw.

Both Washington and London published initial details Thursday. 1

I guess you take what you can get, or at least the crumbs you are offered. 1 1 1

An excellent example. Let me tell you one thing he's dismantled. The Biden/Harris open borders. Are you saying this is a bad thing?

Trade agreements need to be ratified by Congress. So much winning. At best, this was a draw. Using Trumps own logic, the US has been ripping the UK off for years, given that there is a surplus. The 10% tariff of course is paid by the importer not by the UK exporter, so US customers are eventually 10% worse off, prices being 10% higher may result in less exports to the US, so in theory the UK trade surplus could grow especially if the UK buys more US goods under this agreement (beef or chicken anyone?), so the US will be ripping the UK off more ? sounds like a lose / lose. 1 2 1
