  • Would be  "nice" if they mentioned that the Soviets did actually manage to land  more than one craft on Venus and send images back  the only country ever to achieve such a task.

  • If it crashes on London , odds are very small hitting a native Brit. 😉

  • Information supplied from the TAT office

When objects enter earth's atmosphere, the angle is very crucial.

If it is too shallow, it is flipped away.

If it is too steep, it will burn with the friction(with air) well before it impacts the ground.

It is already May10.

And I am well and alive.

So it doesn't worry me.

scheduled for May 10 around 6.56pm local time.

Thanks for posting your response. I didn’t remember that the Rooskies did that in 1972. I went online and looked at the photos. Amazing, truly amazing …

True, but the others that landed on Venus are irrelevant to this article...

oh dear, wish down votes would at least debate the issue... Could generate a lovely discussion.

‘I’m alright, Jack’ 😋

Thanks for clarifying it might burn up through friction with air btw, thought it might be because of marshmallows.

Actually, this particular craft has heat shields for it could safely descend the Venusian atmosphere, most speculate the craft could land intact.

Actually, looking back, you might be right... I will edit my comment

That's not the one with the now long dead dog is it?

Poor Laika.  Did he/she ever come down?

No its not about the dog (I think female) though interesting question  did he/they/them burn up on reentry or continue on an endless voyage to the outer reaches where no-one has gone before ??

I will not worry after this piece of space junk has crashed back to Earth.

I also do not want to get hit by any meteorite, as it would be fatal as well.

Just saying.
