Ah yes!  The one time “go to “ event when the left has nothing.

The immortal JJANUARY 6th.

It’s truly their only try to get “out of jail “ card.

The problem is that card has been revoked, like a cancelled Visa with prejudice.

Due to their proven time and time again history of violence, assaults, looting, arson, Tesla torching and that ever so famous “summer of love “ for starters.

MAGA can’t compete with your history.  You win!

I see you’re stumped for an answer again when the facts I stated are referred to as word salad.

In all fairness I understand.

The long term effects of being a leftist causes irreversible brain disorders.  Facts perceived as word salad is one of its primary symptoms.

Currently, no cure is known.

As a fellow forum member, while I do not agree with the contents of your posts, you do have my compassion.

well the initial statement that no one is above the law - in the USof A today, that is incorrect - we see blatant violations of the espionage law - ( passing classified to unauthorized people), violating the US Constitution after taking an oath to protect it, and these are from the highest officials in the US government.  From comments made recently. it might get worse!  So much for a country once known for its freedoms and protections from such activities.

the use of SIGNAL discussing the US attacks and yeah wife and brother though not cleared for that info.  As for Biden I am not sure what you are talking about except feel it probably something mouthed by Trump without any proof that you picked up on.  Trumps classified storage illegal in Fla. too but we probably won't hear much more about it as he will hide the evidence or have it deleted through his cronies in whatever agency they belong to.IMHO anyway.  Having spent a career in that atmosphere, I am fully aware of limitations on ones actions and violations that need to be acted upon due to the seriousness of the classifications.

Remember there were initially invited into the prison, then asked to leave which they did, going into the public carpark, before ICE stormed in...
Now ICE etc are trying to claim they were assaulted by the congressmen, one of which is 80. They've threatened them with arrest.

"The notion that I or any of my colleagues ‘body slammed’ armed federal officers is absurd. DHS is lying because they know their agents were out of line.”

Homeland Security Dept. accuses lawmakers of ‘storming’ an ICE facility despite oversight laws saying they could be there

Three members of Congress from New Jersey, along with protesters, faced off with Department of Homeland Security officers on Friday after visiting a local ICE detention facility. The incident started as officers attempted to arrest the mayor of Newark, Ras Baraka, after he tried to join the lawmakers inside the facility.

As tensions grew, so did the physicality of the situation, with officers and lawmakers pushing and shouting at one another before Baraka, a Democrat, was ultimately detained for several hours. He was released Friday evening.

Quote

Marjorie Taylor Greene:.......We just had four members go down to, it's not the DC jail, it's the facility, detention facility, that's part of the Federal Bureau of Prisons where perhaps 50 or so people from January six are being held. We don't want to intervene in any specific case, but we had gotten reports that federal facilities were mistreating, abusing people that had been arrested on January six, having been to Guantanamo more than once. I know that the people there, just from what little we saw from the outside, they're being treated worse there than the bloodthirsty terrorists at Guantanamo. It is really outrageous. So we wanted to see...........

Louie Gohmert: I've toured prisons before. It's no big deal. Normally, those in charge of a federal prison facility or jail detention facility, they're glad to have you see, because they don't want any stories about unfair treatment that are unfounded. The way you get rid of that is to allow people to see what you're doing.

So we went down there and we went in, showed our IDs, asked to see the facilities, wanted a tour, and we were willing to wait. We knew it would be difficult, but since they have refused to respond, at all, to our letters, to our requests, then it creates more concern.

So we go down and we just say, "We want to see, we want a tour." And eventually after a long wait, we were told, "Oh, you've got to put a mask on." Fine. We all put on masks. And then eventually a lady came out, in uniform, and said, "Well, you're trespassing. You got to get out."

And I said, "Trespassing, where'd you get that?" We've got these federal congressional ideas. We're the ones that have oversight over you. We're the ones that have to vote to whether we keep this facility open, whether we're going to fund another one, or close this. We vote on those things. We have oversight. I've never been denied access. I've been welcomed in federal facilities before.

And she said, "Well, you're trespassing."

And I said, "So what makes you say that?"

"I checked with my supervisor and they're telling me you're trespassing."

I said, "Well, can you get the supervisor down here? I would like to have that discussion."

And so we were told the supervisor was coming, and there was another officer that came down, had three stripes. It was apparently a Sergeant. But she went straight outside. She didn't stop to talk to us.

So I asked, "Where's the supervisor." And one of the other detention facility employees said, "Well, that's her right out there." So I went outside to speak to her and I was followed by other members.

And when we got outside, she ran around and went back in the facility and they locked the door. They locked the door. And all this time there were people going in coming out.

So I know from my days as a judge and my trials in federal court and state court, we're very careful about the evidence we let before a jury. But there is an inference that can be taken when someone has control of evidence, in this case, the conditions and the treatment in this Federal Bureau of Prison facility, they've got total control of it and they hide it. They refused to allow anybody that wants to see it to come in.

Then a judge can instruct a jury, you may take the inference then from that fact. They have total control. They won't let anybody see the evidence.

Then you can infer that they are violating people's rights. They are doing wrong to inmates. They are abusing them. Otherwise, there would be no reason.

I mean, with all the prison and jails I've toured without any incident, any problem, as a Congressman and as a former judge, there's no reason not to let us in unless they have something to hide. And clearly they do. We're not trying to interfere in any case, but we do want to know the conditions and whether or not there's abuse. And as lawyers say all the time in court, "I take it by your silence the answer is yes." There is abuse.

It is an abomination that they will not allow any oversight of whatever abuses they're involved in.

My late father was a fan of "lock 'em up", and trusting the system. Then he volunteered, when retired, to be an official visitor to police stations. Members of the public can go in, and see the cells, speak to the inmates. He was shocked. Most of the inmates were kids. They had done wrong, but he became sympathetic when he saw them squatting in cells with no mattress, given a piss soaked blanket by the custody sergeant, denied a hot meal. He was ex-Army, and knew the police were being delinquent, and he ripped them a new one, telling them to do their job. After that first visit, even though he was an ex-smoker, he would take a pack of ciggies in. He wanted these lads to realise the error or their ways, but they were entitled to be treated humanely.

So I have sympathies with both the Republican congressmen who wanted to speak to 6th January Insurgents as well as the Democrat politicians wanting to meet those in ICE custody. In both cases, there are federal jobsworths who probably are trying to cover things up, (not doing their job basically). To block a mayor seems semantics. As the former judge said, normally facility officials are overjoyed when politicians want to visit them.

Here's how I think of the JAN6 dustup:

Upon Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20, 2025, he pardoned all but 14 of about 1,270 convicted rioters.

DC Federal Judges who worked long hours on these cases -- both of Repub and Dem appointments -- were not happy.

And these are the DC federal judges that Trump will have to deal for most of the next 4 years.

You're just demonstrating yet again that you don't understand what due process means. Being detained in an ICE facility prior to being deported does not constitute due process.  Due process, as specified by the Supreme Court in their unanimous, 9-0 ruling means that individuals facing deportation must be given "notice and opportunity to be heard appropriate to the nature of the case."

Being detained in an Immigration Detention Center does not form any part of what the Supreme Court defines as their due process rights.

Your post brought tear to my eyes and probably many others.

There is body cam footage proving who assaulted who.  I would believe that more than any statement put out by a liberal Democrat congressman or senator.  Like their party, they have lost all credibility.

You didn’t mention the location and the years your father visited these “police station” jails.

I haven’t heard of those since the days of the Wild West or the Andy Griffith show.

Why would juveniles be in an adult jail unless it was Podunk, Mississippi in 1960 or similar.

Not the same as state or federal prisons or ICE detention centers. Plenty of reality TV shows nowadays showing conditions.  Not the Hiiton, of course but three hits and a cot.

Incorrect.

The majority being held at the facility are serious offenders.

If given a NTA (Notice to Appear) by DHS awaiting court with an IJ (Immigration Judge) and released guess what happens???

Answer: THEY DONT APPEAR.

While I can’t copy the link I have provided some information readily available on several who are detained at the Newark facility.

If you think these thugs will return to the IJ if released on an NTA, you’re clearly mistaken.
