Yes, and you can safely bet that all of them were able to use those few dollars that they didn't have to pay to the tax man where as the rich people are not really hampered by and tax savings while they go about their spending.  a totally different game for the poor and not so well off.  Just like Trump learning about a possible recession - IF one does occur then it will not affect him nor the other rich people as they will still have money to spend wildly if desired but the lower paid people may be out of a job as their small business might be forced to close or even some big businesses are having problems too and while they are talking, nothing has been put in writing as to finished details of a new trade agreement - exactly like that with the UK, they claimed to have settled but then said it would be months probably before the finall writiten agreement was done and signed by both countries.

The problem, as I see it, is the only people complaining is the left in the first place.  Most people understand that the work that Trump is doing takes time.  The USA economy didn't get into the current mess overnight and it's not going to be fixed overnight.  China has already made agreements (albeit only 90 days) so that's a great win, but time will tell.  It's not just the stock (which as of yesterday is now surpassed the April 2 level) that I am talking about.  It's every single thing that Trump does (and I don't think a list is required) the left is adamantly complaining.  It's like the old saying of "crying wolf", after a while nobody pays any attention and worse, they just laugh about the complaining.

I agree with the author. Economic issues related to China must be addressed, but Trump is doing it in the wrong way. I cannot read the article as it is under paywall, but the title suggests it may be interesting too! 🙂

Approval ratings go up and down.  I see you decided to cherry pick a chart from mid-late April (when there was a lot of tariff uncertainty).   These polls/ratings are too easily manipulated and I for one have little confidence in them (as I seem to recall Hillary beating Trump).   Trump moves so fast with the "art of the deal" that most ratings are outdated by the time they publish them.

B.S. I did not cheery pick anything. That's the latest available list of polls about the economy by RCP, a RW leaning site. And I always put a link so that other people can check it. 🤣

 

Yes, approval ratings vary over time according to respondents' perceptions. The proof being that the same polls were showing a positive approval two months ago!
