That may be the case but one should remember that most Thais with a village background live in substandard accommodation with little or no movement towards the 21st century living standards so on that premise where is the hardship of time in prison unless of course you are concerned that the offender may get kicked around for his crimes by other offenders who have forgotten that they were also offenders.

If that is what is worrying you don’t be it is better punishment than any court can hand out and the old adage that if you have a bunch of baddies make one of them a boss and he will kick the Sh- -t out of all the rest works very well.

I do hope so.  These things are generally solved between the family.  The family of the kid who got kicked will have a significant about to say regarding compensation or jail time.  These are usually settled with compensation and a wai.  If that was my kid.  I'd be pushing for the two years on prison.  There is no excuse for what that coward did.

Ban the 'specific parent' from entering the the school premises, not all others.

Amazing, most schools would be looking to ban the parent to stop other parents worrying about the same happening to their child. This school however thinks the assaulted child’s family should forgive a quite despicable act.

little kids are always squabbling in the school yard, an occasional push now and again. That’s kids, I see it all the time . If it was a case of bullying, it should have been reported correctly and dealt with.
