Trump literally said as he ambushed the South African president the "white crosses are burial sites of thousands of white farmers". So you read his comments with different words? How does one do that if not existing is some parallel universe of reality?

A recent news verification of those "thousands of white farmer burial sites" that the POTUS referred to, found out they were a former temporary memorial display to honor two farmers who had been killed there.

On the contrary, Cecil Rhodes' arrival  and subsequent colonization resulted in a destruction  and erosion of the quality of life for Africans. Rhodes was a corrupt profiteer who used  his political position in South Africa to illegally and unfairly expropriate land from native Africans. He then systematically denied the native Africans a right to vote. His business ventures  resulted in the creation of a monopoly in the world diamond market , and his legacy company De Beers still tries to control the market.  Rhodesia was run as a corporate possession and the mining and other commercial  resource  exploitation resulted in deforestation, and polluted  water due to the  mining runoff.  The loclal Africans were forced off their land and denied access to water. 

Rhodes even started a war with Transvaal, trying to take the land  used and occupied Afrikaners.  It is understandable why the Afrikaners despised him too and did not care much for Rhodesians.

In 1965, Rhodesia  staged an insurrection and chose to violate its agreements as a colony subject to British rule. Rhodesia was never a lawful country until native African rule  was put in place.

The rows of white crosses along a rural road which Trump claimed were burial sites of over a thousand  white farmers were in fact a temporary memorial in protest against the murder of one white farming couple Glen and Vida Rafferty, who were ambushed and shot dead on their premises in 2020.

The crosses are no longer there.

 Out of a total of 26,232 murders in South Africa last year, 44 were killings of people within the farming community and of those, only eight were of farmers.

 The image Trump showed which he claimed was evidence of white farmer killings in South Africa isn't from South Africa - it's actually from a report about women being killed in the Democratic Republic of Congo!

The question is not whether Afrikaner farmers have been subject to numerous targeted killings or not. It is whether it still currently happens (beyond a few murders).

 

Nobody denies that it happened in the past. However, the available data (around 50 farmers' killings per year, both white and black) suggests that it's over.

 

That's why Trump needs to lie by showing pictures from other countries than SA on TV, and also why MAGA fans are posting articles dating from 2017/2018. 🙂
