In the early hours of May 22, a fatal incident occurred in Nonthaburi province, resulting in the tragic death of a female motorcyclist. Believed to be linked to tailgating by a pickup truck driver, the crash has stirred concerns about road safety in the area.

The accident unfolded on Chaiyaphruek Road, Pak Kret district, when 18-year-old Tuwanan Klinmalee reported the scene to officers from Chaiyaphruek Police Station. While passing by with his younger sister, Tuwanan spotted an overturned motorcycle and its unconscious rider. Promptly notifying patrol police, the officers arrived at the scene to find the victim, later identified as 31-year-old Jammaree, lying near her red Honda Click motorcycle.

Despite the absence of visible injuries, Jammaree was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The attending rescue team noted the smell of alcohol, raising suspicions that drunk driving might have contributed to the fatal crash.

However, CCTV footage sheds light on another potential factor: tailgating. At approximately 11pm, the footage captured Jammaree riding at high speed, persistently followed by a pickup truck. The video depicts the pickup driver honking repeatedly as they both disappeared from the camera’s view, indicating a possible altercation on the road.

The registration number of the pickup was recorded by the CCTV, assisting police in identifying and locating the driver for questioning. Authorities are currently investigating whether the pickup played an active role in the tragic sequence leading to Jammaree's death.

This heartbreaking incident highlights the critical need for improved road safety awareness and responsible driving practices to prevent further tragedies on Thailand’s roads. As police pursue their investigation, the community awaits answers and justice for Jammaree’s untimely death.
