Crime Two Australian Men Surrender to Pattaya Police After Brawl with Foreigner Over Unpaid Bill

Two Australian nationals have turned themselves in to Pattaya police following a early morning altercation in Soi Buakhao that left a foreign man injured.

 

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of the 26 May, involved a violent clash between foreign nationals outside a local establishment. Footage of the fight, widely circulated on social media, clearly captured the faces of the alleged perpetrators, prompting swift public reaction and police scrutiny.

 

At approximately 18:35 on 26 May, Carlos, 25 and Isaac, 20, both Australian citizens, reported to Pol. Lt. Col. Arut Saphanon, Deputy Superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station, to explain their involvement and declare their innocence. They were accompanied by two Thai security staff from the venue, identified as Theerasak, 40, and Worawut, 35.

 

Carlos, who identified himself as the venue’s manager, denied ownership of the establishment. He stated that the altercation stemmed from the victim refusing to pay his bill. According to Carlos, he attempted to resolve the situation by holding the man’s mobile phone as collateral, prompting the customer to punch him in the head. Carlos admitted to retaliating, after which the security guards intervened and escorted the man outside. The dispute escalated when the customer allegedly returned and continued to provoke the group, resulting in the melee caught on camera.

Deputy Superintendent Arut confirmed that the other party involved has not yet filed a police report. Authorities are now working to locate the individual and gather more details. In the meantime, police have documented the identities of all four individuals involved in the incident.

 

Immigration officers have also been contacted to investigate whether Carlos, who described himself as the restaurant’s manager, possesses valid work documentation.

 

The case remains under investigation.

How about you, realizing that all countries have immigrants. Their children might be born in Australia. Alternatively, they might have one Australian parent and one other nationality. Maybe they decided to name their child Carlos. But, of course that was too far fetched for you.

Carlos, on the other hand might be in deep mud if he can´t cough up a work permit. If he is the owner, even more headache. Disregarding if they work there, are managers or owners, they should have enough experience to know how to handle a problem without the need to fight. Naturally the customer could´ve had a better attitude too.

25 years old, too young to be a bar manager??? Really? He is at his prime for that kind of work. If owner, he could have ran great business since he was 16 or 18 years old.

If you mean his work position. Hell yeah, why not in a foreign country. One of my jobs was a bar and restaurant manager in a Austrian ski resort. I was 21 at that time. I don´t see where you find anything wrong about that?

and looking at your username I take it you spoke the same or very similar language. Though I could be wrong.

So It is not like an Australian having to conversing in Thai . at such a young age.

But then again he might just be a remarkable young man .

First, you would be amazed if you actually knew how many half-wit bar managers as well as bar owners there are in Thailand who can´t speak Thai, or just a little bit. Also, if a person is really interested, there is no problem in learning Thai enough to speak very well in just 1-2 years. There are people doing it in just 4-6 months, but they are remarkable.

Regarding, if you refer to German language, it´s not like you think. I am born in Sweden, and 100% Swedish coming from 2 Swedish parents. However, I read German, Spanish, English and of course Swedish in school. So, yes, naturally i speak German. After that, I have also added French and Thai to my spoken languages. Maybe you think that is remarkable as well. 😉

Nah, most people know that Swedes, Danes and Norwegians understand and can speak with each other. Up north we don´t consider that knowledge of a new language.

Pattaya again..the way they write down your bears and you pay at the end has always been open to scams..I make sure to pay for each individual drink as served as  have been scammed before..

It appears Carlos made huge mistake! Should have let the security guards take Isak (other Australian) to the police. Carlos should have never have identified himself as manager.  Just aking for immigration  problems.  Just not worth it even if he was in the right.

I met a Scots bar owner on Phi Phi, couldn't understand a word in any language.

Yep. Daddy owns the bar, these guys have been “managing” it for ages. Not that long ago they were “hiring” a manager for the place, maybe trying to distance themselves. And it Isaac is only 20, then he’s been working inside the bar since about age 16 as the “DJ”.
