Thailand Launches Nationwide Helmet Law Enforcement

Thailand’s police will launch a nationwide helmet enforcement campaign on 1 June to reduce road accidents. Under the new initiative, both motorcyclists and passengers must wear helmets, or face fines up to 2,000 baht—doubled if passengers are unprotected. The crackdown will focus on high-risk zones like schools, busy roads, and accident-prone areas. Police will use patrols and public awareness efforts to push compliance, aiming to build a long-term culture of road safety. Authorities urge the public to report violations via traffic hotlines.
