A Thai woman, Runglamai Jaisooksern, has turned to social media for help after her husband, Sorasak "Nui" Intakad, who suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), went missing from their home in Chiang Mai on Monday, May 26. Concerned for his well-being due to his mental health condition, Runglamai has appealed to the online community to assist in locating him.

Sorasak, 39, left home on a Honda Wave motorcycle with registration plate 1 กถ 1733 Nakhon Pathom. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, long jeans, and black flip-flops, but may have since changed clothes. A recent sighting places him near the Bangchak Petrol Station in the city's Jed Yod area, where he was reportedly wearing a dark blue jacket and riding his motorcycle.

DID, a disorder involving multiple distinct personality states, causes those affected to switch between identities without awareness. Runglamai explained Sorasak developed this condition in mid-2023. During episodes, he becomes disoriented, unable to recall his identity but typically regains his usual personality within a week.

This is not the first time Sorasak has disappeared. Previously, he has left without essential items like a phone or ID, but this time he retained his wallet, as it was in his trousers after returning home from picking up their daughter.

The Mirror Foundation and netizens have been actively sharing missing person notices, but criticism surfaced online, with some accusing Runglamai of negligence. In response, she revealed their extensive measures to prevent such incidents, including tracking devices, which unfortunately failed due to battery issues.

In a poignant message on Facebook, Runglamai expressed her family's deep love and the crisis they face with Sorasak's absence. For them, being together is paramount, and losing Sorasak to a medical condition is profoundly distressing.

The community and various organisations are rallying to aid in the search, with Runglamai expressing gratitude to those supporting her in this challenging time. She remains committed to searching for Sorasak, determined to reunite her family against the odds.
