Spouse and I noticed that ceiling last week when we were there.  We hadn't shopped there in awhile and were surprised at how bad the ceiling looked--and unsafe.  I don't know who actually owns the shopping center but Big C Extra and Home Pro, as the biggest tenants, should be demanding better maintenance.

The mall is owned by the same owner as big C.

A few weeks ago there was Big C staff in the Kasikorn bank because they also had water damages in the ceiling

Yeah, I sort of go there purely because it is the most convenient to get to and park in...... coming from North of town, plus I can do the trip both ways with zero or only 1 set of traffic lights!. Pretty good Mall and Big-CX has a lot of variety. Not sure how long the ceiling will hold up though, or whether it will be closed for a while to get it fixed.

The ceiling has been deteriorating

You got more chance of dying, getting hit by space junk returning to earth.

Use the other escalator if you are worried.

Didn't I read the other day that Pattaya powers up safety, and now Cracks Top 10 in Southeast Asia Safety Rankings. Really?????????????

This are pictures of the ceiling, right above the escalator, of a well known mall/supermarket in Pattaya.

The ceiling has been deteriorating for almost a year, due to water ingress, and now has started to fall apart, so how much longer before a serious accident happens?

Pictures were taken this evening, and although there was no rain today, water was dripping on me when using the escalator. How can this be allowed??????

Take the stairs instead.

If you wouldn't see the problem......there is no problem.

Old Thai proverb. 🤗

You conceal your empathy for others very well.  Not one iota escaped in this post.

No empathy required, the guy is moaning unnecessarily.

There is another entrance the OP can use to avoid any danger, if he feels that he is in danger.

I visit this store once or twice a week, I feel safer inside than any shopping centre in Australia.

Life is full of dangers.

Life is about being accountable, it's all about mitigating life's daily dangers, being a responsible adult.

Whinging and whining about a death that will never happen, is not the solution.

I surmise that this is all due to the installation of a huge number of solar panels on the roof...... the contractors obviously broke the seals.

It seems to be an ongoing problem, as every time it rains the ceiling panels deteriorate further.

Probably the entire roof will have to be re-done. Costly!

Turn right not left or enter from the parking deck.

Use the other walkway.

Problem solved

When in Pattaya I often ride there with the scooter.

(love the "secret paths" to get there from Soi Buakhao and back without being bothered by traffic lights)

...As in maintaining a property so that ceilings are less likely to fall on innocent people.
