I was diagnosed with psoriasis about two years ago. After two years of pills and creams, nothing has changed, in fact it has gotten slightly worse. I have always asked my dermatologist to do a biopsy, but he has always told me that it was useless since the signs of psoriasis were evident. After insisting several times, he told me that if he wanted to do it, the cost would be around 15,000 thb.
1) How much does a biopsy to check if it is psoriasis or not really cost?
2) At this point, I would say that I would like to change dermatologists. Could someone, who is perhaps in the same situation as me, recommend a reliable one?
Thanks everyone.

If you are taking a beta-blocker, psoriasis is a well-known side effect.

A biopsy for something clearly visible as a skin condition - are you OCD?

The combination I used to cure my psoriasis was:

Clinoderm ( Clobetasol propionate ) twice a day.

Fah Talai Jhon cream twice a day.

Cleared the psoriasis in about a week. I did stop the beta-blocker as well.

By all means get a second opinion. Good luck.

It is quite possible to mistake something else for psoriasis. In addition there are different types of psoriasis  including one (rare) that is serious and potentially  fatal.

In some cases skin cancers can superficially resemble psoriasis, and most Thai dermatoligists have limited evlxperrience with skin cancer.

When no response to treatment to standard psoriasis treatmrnts, , biopsy makes sense.

Cost will vary with type of hospital e.g government or private. Important to do this at a hospital where the pathologists have extensive experience with skin diseases including less common ones.

@Fabio1980 where are you located?
