The UK votes in MPs like that, who determine government policy. It is up to the UK voters to  vote in MPs who have  a different position.

I agree, up to a point. I do, however, feel that some senior people in the institutions are not working in the best interests of the UK. They are appointed, not elected, and as such there is not much that voters can do to bring them into line.

The age groups must be factored in too.

 

Most immigrants are under 50 years old. They are concentrated in the age range that contributes (or children who will contribute), and there are few people at retirement age or close to it. It's likely the case in the U.K. too.

I get that and it grieves me, but all the same they just did what they were told. The ‘silent’ greatest generation would be turning in their graves. There is clearly merit in immigration and I’m all for means tested, absolutely no issue, but this current en-masse influx debacle is a ruiner of states. Putin loves to inflict that kind of damage, but sadly our own perpetrate it (typically rich liberalistic boomers with multiple properties) and will never have to live next door to it.

Rubbish,  my Thai wife and two children when I moved back to the UK did not receive benefits, in fact my wife started working immediately and payed income tax to the exchequer from day one.
