In an unusual turn of events, Patong Police are currently investigating a suspicious vehicle left by a foreign national near Paradise Beach, its license plates intentionally hidden. The incident drew attention this morning, June 3, when members of the Patong Crime-Free Community Project LINE group flagged the matter to the authorities.

The sequence of events began around 9am when a report was made that a foreign man had parked a sedan opposite an elephant camp along Muen Ngern Road, south of Patong, before disappearing from the area. The alert prompted an immediate response from Police Lieutenant Wichyut Dampuek, Deputy Chief of Investigation at Patong Police. Officers, alongside Police Lieutenant Colonel Phongsaphan Techawit and traffic unit members, were swiftly dispatched to the site.

According to a local resident, Pairoj, the incident unfolded much earlier, around 4am. Pairoj had witnessed a male tourist arriving in the black Toyota Yaris Ativ who was subsequently picked up by another white sedan, which sped off shortly thereafter. The Toyota, left behind, had its license plates obscured both at the front and rear, sparking suspicions.

Upon reaching the scene, officers found the vehicle unlocked and devoid of any occupants. Further inspection revealed a license plate associated with Nakhon Sawan province, which could conflict with the observed covered plates. Such discrepancies prompted the police to delve deeper into the car's registration details and the reasons for its abandonment.

With the peculiar nature of the situation and an apparent effort to conceal the car’s identity, authorities are piecing together clues, pondering whether illicit activities might be at play. The police have requested their investigation team to trace the vehicle's ownership, ascertaining the motivations behind its peculiar abandonment.

As inquiries remain underway, the possibility of illegal activity has not been ruled out. The vehicle is under strict police observation, and the community remains vigilant as officials work to unveil the mystery surrounding this abandoned car.
