Visa On Arrival Versus Visa Exemption

Recommended Posts

I have always had a visa when coming to Thailand but this time will be coming strictly as a tourist. I am a passport holder of one of those countries that is exempt from the 30 day tourist visa requirement (US).

What I find confusing is whether or not I have to go to the Visa on Arrival counter at BKK airport upon arrival or do I just go straight to the Immigration line, show my Valid US passport, return ticket and credit cards?

Please advise since I sure don't want to stand around and fill-out the paperwork and then be told it was all for nothing.

And yes I have RTFF but am still confused on exactly what I have to do.

Thanks in Advance.

Just go straight to the immigration queue for your 30 day stamp then down the escalator to collect your bags as normal

Just to add to the comment!

They also want to see your boarding card from the flight you have just come in on, so don't lose it. If you collect air miles that won't be a problem.

Further to the back to back rule. There was a posting the other month about a new rule, old rule now being enforced about the use of the same crossing point. That was max of three re-entries on that point then you would be refused re-entry on the fourth. This was due to start in July.

That is another rule that was "briefly" enforced.

Seems to be forgotten again now.
