Realistically I had my wife sign a prenup.

I had that with the 1st Thai wife.  Although, reality is, if living at village with her family, if they don't want you around, you really should leave :cheesy:

The POA was way more important, and sold the house, ASAP, without her at the land office :coffee1:

This is a bizarre post that only reflects on you as stupid. Why are you denigrating your own wife on a public forum? Is this how you get your kicks?

Did you miss the part about she doesn't want to share the money with her husband, but happy to take his money? What kind of woman and farang (you) think that's OK?

Thai marriage law states anything brought to the marriage initially by either party remains with that person in the event of marriage breakdown.

To me, that's much fairer than Western family law. I would still be a millionaire under Thai law.

You are confusing said assets with a monthly allowance, which is a different and negotiated situation.

So my wife thinks she's coming into a few million Baht (almost no chance).

And wanted me to sign a document stating any money she gets is hers, and I have no claim on it.

I say, "sure, no problem", and she brings over a notepad for me to write out the agreement.

I write "any money you get and half belongs to me" she tells me to sign and date it to make it official.

She asks me to read out what I wrote, and I read out "any money you get belongs entirely to you"

She walks off happily clutching the document to keep somewhere safe .........

You can't fix stupid!

there is  an old saying  "" what is yours is mine and what is mine is MINE""

seems every Thai person is sitting on a massive fortune of land. They're all filthy rich.

It's insane. My gif is 25, doesn't have a driving licence or money to pay her rent if it wasn't for me helping her. But she owns land in Roi Et inherited from the father. She could be richer than me for all I know.

Well depends if there is real love or she is just his life long paid servant.

Obviously Mr Brit have advocated his view for years, and to be true, it doesn't seems his former statements serve him the credibility of he is paying her for her services.

And you also advocates for every relationship is a paid contract she doesn't contributes with money and pay her share of the bills. No matter she being a housewife and taking care of kids

Allowing all Thai women to have full rights to buy/sell land regardless of a change in their name (to a married foreigner) was a move to make things equal with Thai men.

Dear God, the feminist virus has taken hold in Thailand.

However - saying, "I'm not sharing any of this with you, farang," is rather greedy.  You do support her and your kid, right.
And yet when the fickle winds of fate change direction, it's "P*ss-off farang, you get nothing."

This is my line of thought as well. BritmanToo would have done so much for her, paid so much for her..and this is how she repays him. The problem of doing anything for a woman is that after she's received the benefit she gives no credit for it whatsoever anymore .They're all ungrateful ingrates.

Just refreshing your dating stories and what we discussed lately. Seems you are all over the place trolling

You're clearly trolling here. It's very simple, I have a gf in Thailand and a Filipina wants to come see me on 10 July, it's not hard.

That can happen when you marry a bar girl, who is in it for the money to start with.

Every woman is in it for the money!

Only the payment plans differ.

Some want cash up front, some want your home and pension at the relationship end, some will wait to inherit when you die.

Dear boy, garner some respect for yourself. That's not a GF. If you are paying her rent, it means you aren't even living together.

Sounds like a father/daughter relationship. But you aren't being a good dad.

Whilst that's true, this move by your woman represents an attempt on her part to uni-laterally change the terms of the relationship.

You would be well advised to unequivocally stand up to her and tell her "No", so she understands she can't change the terms of the relationship on her own.

My Russian ex wife suddenly came up with wanting children. After great resistance I agreed, and it was the slippery slope to completely annihilation.

This is how women operate, they seek to destroy by a thousand cuts, you don't even notice it and suddenly you've given up all your power.

Another pitiful commentary. But yet, instead of being a man that tells his 'GF' no, you capitulate and demean yourself by paying for her company.

The younger guys wonder why the heck some ladies choose to be with a much older guy over them .  They don't get it .    The older the guy.... the less time to have to put up with him !

Not such a dumb strategy if you think about it .

and yes.... others choose something with less body odor,  but then try to get payment more on a monthly basis .

Mine just loves me for my sharp sarcastic wit .

ok Jake C .  Let me have the blast of scorn .  haha    This is Thailand, and like it or not there are many scenarios regarding male/female relationships.   Remember, even the "good ones" have a very large failure rate

I long ago accepted men have no power in any sexual relationship with a female.

Briffault's Law

"The female, not the male, determines all the conditions of the animal family. Where the female can derive no benefit from association with the male, no such association takes place."

Again, that's true, but within the relationship you can still have a certain amount of power. The woman will always try to challenge it, by making demands which change the nature of the relationship, so you need to stand up to her and make clear it's not acceptable. If you just let it happen, then indeed, in the long term you will have no power.

I mean think about it, if she's in the relationship because she wants something from you, that alone gives you power.
