Krungsri online banking discontinued from 1 October 2025

I have just this very minute called the bank and they confirmed they are cancelling Internet Banking but the App WILL CONTINUE TO WORK.

So no sweat. Basically things stay as normal for me and most other people.

Was that ever in doubt?  The graphic shown in the OP from the Krungsri website even points you towards it.

Do you have the SCB Easy app and does that work as well - as my understanding is they only allow it on one device but I could be wrong?

 

(Bangkok Bank still has web access so you don't really need it for them)

Do u understand that they will follow Bangkok Bank policy and close the account to those who don't have the right visa to have an account in Thailand? Don't be surprised if alot more happens even to expats and ur accounts in a thai bank.My daughter who have a thai passport open an account in her name and let me use it when im in Thailand.I dont trust this country at all.

Very unlikely. Bangkok Bank used to allow this, but then came a BoT rule change that forced them to end it. That should apply to all Thai banks.

What two different "mediums" are we talking about? There is ONE medium and its called the internet. Internet banking is connecting to your bank using a PC, laptop, iPad, mobile phone or anything that can access the internet. The people on this thread who seem to think internet banking is just sitting at a desktop PC are mistaken. I do agree with your other point that using a mobile device interface is far easier these days and probably why some banks are doing away with their web site access altogether.

Krungsri's internet banking option to access one's account using the bank's website will be going away. The only option left will be to use Krungsri's app, same as SCB.

UOB & Bangkok Bank still allow customers to use both options, the website access (without app) and using the phone app. Those are two separate options, but they both use the internet. Do you agree?

I'm fine and very well versed with tech...

 

So, whenever tech makes it easier to type and do business on a mobile phone keyboard and 6 inch phone screen vs. my full size desktop keyboard and 24 in monitor, that's when I'd begin to prefer using the mobile app.... But we're nowhere close to that right now.

 

Phone apps are OK when all you have to do is tap presented choices or scroll displayed info... But they're nowhere near as fast or convenient when you actually have to type to enter content.

Thanks too for that suggestion. I'd used Bluestacks in the past for Android video streaming app stuff and it was fine for a time... But then they kept coming out with new versions of the BS software, and every time I upgraded to the latest version, the user experience and functionality seemed to get worse!  And BS also didn't support required DRM in some Android video streaming apps.  So at some point, I gave up on that, uninstalled it all, and went to just using Google TV streaming devices instead....

 

But the banking apps only approach within Bluestacks, that certainly might be an interesting alternative to explore!

I subscribe to an IPTV company in UK, no names, and for 30 quid a year I get ALL channels I will ever need, movies, series, sports, and it works on B,stacks on my PC perfectly. 

Together with NORD VPN I can get ALL UK channels, with catch up etc.

WWW != The Internet.

 

SCB don't support web-based banking. I have to use the app.

Yep, in my many years of experience and having tried and tested most of the major providers, Nord is the one MOST friendly and compatible with all kinds of  streaming service activity.... whereas many others claim to support streaming, but when you actually go to use their servers, they're often blocked or get recognized as VPN services and draw the "you're using a VPN" error message.

Bottom line, all banks (also in other countries) are trying to consolidate all banking to one platform - an app. 

 

Why?   If the bank has internet banking and an app they need to maintain two computer systems which is not cheap. So they consolidate onto just an app.

On my phone, I use several very essential for me extensions that require the use of "accessibility services" in Android to be turned on. And, the Thai banking apps don't allow that, meaning, every time I want to use the banking app, I have to go into my Android settings and turn off 3-4 accessibility service settings one by one, and then go back and re-enable them when I done with the banking apps...  It's just an ANNOYING HASSLE!

 

 

 

Sounds like you need a better phone.
